I continued taking small steps back down the hallway in shock.
They all knew?
I then bumped into Chace in the hallway who just looked at me as though I were his dead aunt. "Ta-" he started.
I had every right to be mad at him. First, he didn't tell me that Uncle Nate was dying. Then, he didn't mention the fact that my father had fully regained his memories and was walking around the mansion pretending that he hadn't.
"Don't!" I screamed as pushing past him. I ran down the staircase before entering the kitchen. I approached my father in anger. "Why?"
"Huh?" dad started slowly as I firmed my eyes.
"Why wouldn't you tell me?" I asked as my father sat in the kitchen, around the table beside Zac, Ethan, and Chris. "Your memory has returned and you didn't think to mention it? So instead, you've been walking around acting as though you don't know who I am?"
"Rina" Dad started slowly "listen...I held off as long as possible so you don't....."
"Don't what?" I yelled.
"Ask me why I did it! Alright, so you don't ask me why I traded your life for mine or why I'm such a fucking screw up!" He shouted. "Why I didn't tell you about all that money"
He was referring to 2007 when he told the Larrunzarios that they could take my life instead of his. I never asked due to the timing and eventually his accident.
He didn't tell me about his memory due to the fear of me asking that dreaded question.
I looked down and sighed. Yep, my father is definitely back.
"You son of a bitch" I said under my breath in anger and frustration "this is just like you, you know...you went through all that trouble lying to me just to avoid a hard conversation"
"Rina" dad called as I began walking out of the room.
"Go fuck yourself you drunken asshole" I snapped as continuing walking.
That was the 2010-2011 Saga; well the foundation of it anyway. Betrayal.
I walked to the backyard where I just screamed as loud as I could out of frustration.
"You've changed." A voice says from behind me. "You seem less...compliant."
"Where have you been these last seven years?" I asked my cousin.
"Travelling" Ethan shrugged with a smile. "You seem like you're ready to do the same."
"I'd never leave like you did." I scoff. "You abandoned us."
"It wasn't like that."
"Yes it was."
"You'd do the same if you were me."
"No I wouldn't because this is my home. At the end of the day, no matter what happens between these walls this is what I was made for."
He softens his gaze.
"Oh Taylor. You don't even realise it, you were made for so much more then this. My father is a puppeteer and you're too comfortable to cut the damn strings."
"Is that why you left?"
"I had to find out who I really am. Without the family."
"So why are you back? After all you didn't even come back for Jason or uncle Donny's funeral"
"What are you saying? That I have some agenda?" He cocked a brow.
Yeah, that was exactly what I was saying. I loved my cousin Ethan, but I wasn't so sure if I trusted him.
