"I am so sorry!" the doctor who had told me Hudson was dead apologized for the thousandth time. "That was such a terrible mistake I made!"
"It's fine," I responded, waiting by the exit of the hospital for Hudson. "It's alright now."
"But I told you he was dead when he was actually almost fine!"
"It's alright now," I repeated, patting the doctor on the shoulder.
"I really am sorry."
I laughed, shaking my head. "Trust me. I said it's okay now, so it's okay."
"Okay," the doctor responded, still looking doubtful. "If you ever need anything, you know where to find me."
"Alright," I responded with a chuckle. "Thank you for taking care of me."
"Anytime, darling," the doctor responded before retreating back into the hospital.
A few seconds alter a sleek black car pulled up to the hospital entrance. I admired it from afar and wondered whose fancy car it was. It must have been nice to afford such fancy things.
My jaw dropped when Hudson got out of the car. He grinned at me and gestured me over. I walked over, still in shock at this car.
"Where in the world did you get this?"
"My dad bought it for me," he responded with a shrug. "Since I totally totaled my other one."
"This car looks really expensive."
Hudson shrugged. "I didn't pick it. But it's not like I'll refuse such a gift. I need a car, you know?"
I nodded, following him back to the car. I got into the passenger's seat. The interior was black leather. It was really fancy.
"I hope you're not scared of being in a car after what happened," Hudson said as he started the car.
I shrugged and put on my seatbelt. "Que sera sera."
"What?"
"What will be, will be," I told him as he exited the hospital parking lot. "Everyone gets in crashes, so if everyone was scared of driving in a car after them, no one would be driving."
"Good way to think of it," Hudson responded with a nod.
We made it back to our apartment building and Hudson parked his fancy new car in the garage. We made our way up to our apartments. I opened mine and Hudson strolled in, plopping on the couch and turning on the T.V right away.
"I'm hungry," he complained.
I sighed, and shook my head but smiled. I was glad everything was normal again. I went into the kitchen and made lunch sandwiches and returned to the living room and gave him his.
"Thanks," he responded, taking a large bite right away.
"We need to talk," I told him, also starting on my sandwich, but in considerably smaller bites. "You know... about before."
Hudson swallowed and nodded his head. "About that... I'm really, really, really sorry about what I said. I was just really worried over what happened and I didn't want anything to happen to you like that again, so I had to be mean..."
I stared at him. I knew he had my best interest in mind. But... "That doesn't matter, Hudson."
Hudson chuckled. "Yeah, I know now. You don't seem to care if there's danger involved... although you were pretty scared on the phone. Crying out my name with that cute shaking voice of yours and all."
