Beca's PoV

Chloe won. I'm not sure what they did in that lounge room but it was loud and Chloe won. So now I'm is being forced to spend a weekend with Chloe, alone. I'm surprised to find that I really don't mind all that much. It's a chance to get to know each other. Chloe had only told me to pack a bag for the weekend and to make sure to bring comfortable hiking shoes. I had frowned at her. I much prefer my dorm room to any outside activities.

A few days later I find myself in Chloe's car, my bag packed, and no idea where I am going.

"Where are we going?" I ask for the umpteenth time. Chloe smirks and doesn't answer. "Chlo!" I groan. She softens at the nickname.

"It'll be fine, Becs."She assures me, placing a hand on my thigh and giving it a quick squeeze before returning her hand to the wheel. My heart warms at the nickname.

"Fine." I sigh. I try and relax back into the seat. I don't know how long the ride is going to be but hopefully its not a long one. Somehow, I fall asleep.

"Beca." A soft voice penetrates the fog of sleep. "Wake up." Something pokes my side.

"No." I grumble and roll over. Into a door. I groan in annoyance. Someone laughs. it's a sweet sound.

"We're here." Chloe's voice tells me. I blink around blearily. In front of us is a cabin made out of wood. Behind it is a rising mountain. The rest of a mountain. The hiking clothes make sense now. I look outside the car door window. We're surrounded by trees. I open the door and stumble out. Chloe, giggling quietly, gets out the other side and grabs both our bags from the trunk. I hurry over to help her but she just shakes her head with a smile.

"Seriously, let me help." I say, reaching for my bag again. Chloe rolls her eyes with a smile.

"Sorry, Becs, but you can barely stand." She says, looking at my wobbly legs pointedly. I huff and roll my eyes. Okay, so maybe my legs were still half asleep but that doesn't mean that Chloe has to carry my bag. However, she beats me to the cabin and opens the door. "Hurry up, shorty, there's a fireplace inside." She tells me. I quicken my steps. It's colder in the mountains and I haven't seen a wood fire in years.

After Chloe gets the fire going she shows me around. The front entrance leads to a large sitting room. The fireplace makes it warm and it has a cozy feel to it. The door to the right leads to a fully furnished kitchen. The door connecting to the kitchen leads to some sort of library slash study room and if I liked books I would think it was heaven. The door to the left leads to a bedroom with a queen bed. There were two doors leading off the bedroom. One led to a bathroom and the other led back to the sitting room, almost making it a square. Chloe dumps our bags on the bed.

"It's okay if we share, right?" Chloe asks. "Wouldn't be the first time." She smirks. I can't help the blush that rises to my cheeks.

"Y-yeah. All g-good." I stutter. Chloe grins.

"You're not getting shy on me now, are you Becs?" Chloe asks. I shake my head but don't answer. Damn me and my anxiety. Chloe walks over to me and grabs my hips, pulling me closer. "Is this okay?" She whispers. I nod. "Good 'cause you're mine all weekend."

"I believe the deal was you got me alone not that I was yours." I sniff in annoyance because they made a deal about me and I didn't get a say in it.

"But you ar-" Chloe stops mid sentence and looks away.

"What were you going to say?" I ask with a frown.

"Nothing." She says but her smile is strained. Chloe pulls away and walks into the sitting room and then into the kitchen. "Are you hungry?" I frown at the change of subject. I want Chloe to open up to me but I know pushing can have negative effect. So I decides to brush it off. If it happens again then I won't let it drop and I'll make sure Chloe is okay. I check my watch. It's almost six.

"I could eat." I say as I follow her into the kitchen. I grin cheekily. "There wouldn't happen to be a Taco Bell nearby, would there?" Chloe rolls her eyes with a smile.

"No but I can make tacos?" She suggests.

"If its no trouble!" I say, realising I could have be rude.

"I'd love to make tacos." Chloe says with a grin. I sit down at the breakfast island. I'm a terrible cook and I'd probably do more bad then good.

"I'd offer to help but I once set Amy's kitchen on fire without actually using anything hot." I tell Chloe who chuckles in response.

"Whose cabin is this?" I ask as Chloe starts cooking. She looks up.

"Mine." I raise an eyebrow, impressed.

"Why'd you buy it?" I ask curiously.

"Oh, no I didn't buy it. It was my grandpappies before he passed away." Chloe smiles sadly.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean t-" Chloe cuts me off.

"It's fine. I miss him but I have happy memories of him and I don't want them to drown in my grief." Her smile widens but it's still sad. Chloe begins grabbing out ingredients and setting up the kitchen. "You can go exploring while I cook, if you want?" Chloe suggests.

"Like outside? In the cold? No way." I say, looking out the window. I wouldn't be surprised if it snowed. Winter isn't too far away. Chloe smiles. It's happier this time.

"Well, you'll have to brave it tomorrow. We're going hiking." I pout. She smiles and comes over, kissing me on the cheek. "You'll love it, trust me." I can't help but grin. Chloe looks out the window and only just seems to realise the cabin is as cold inside as it is outside. "Do you know how to start a fire?" She asks, cutting up the meat.

"Yeah, with a lighter and kindling." I say and Chloe quickly hands me a lighter from a cupboard and pulls out some white material. I look at it questioningly.

"It's a fire starter." She explains. "Very flammable." I nod and turn to leave when I feel I slap on my butt. I spin around, cheeks flaming.

"Chloe!" I squeak. She just laughs and returns to cooking. I scamper out of the room. This was going to be an interesting weekend.
