Faiths POV

I love football as much as any southern girl possibly can but let me just tell you that I am not exactly thrilled to be sitting on a cold metal bleacher watching high school boys throw a ball while some other guys assess their skill level. At least the company is good. I'm not sure how great of a job Tim is doing though because he and I haven't stopped talking. I mean its not like deep conversations about our hopes and dreams its more just about whether or not we like marmalade on our toast, he does by the way. As the sun starts to set behind the football field tree line I get relieved because surly they can play in the dark. Then suddenly the lights come on and I am all to aware that I'm going to be stuck her a while. As the sun gets lower and lower so does the temperature. Tim must realise that I'm hugging myself tighter and tighter every minute because he reaches into his duffel and pulls out a grey Start High Football hoodie from his bag. "here put this on we can't have a sick nurse." He says handing it to me.

"what about you? Or is this another part of the 'Tim McGraw deluxe' whatever thing?" I ask as I pull it on.

"no that one is running out you see since you've been using it so much, this will have to come out the 'I'm sorry I convinced you into this awful job' super extra deluxe package." He tells me smiling. I just laugh because he makes me laugh. It gives me chance to absorb the smell of his hoodie. It smells like a warm hug from someone you love and a really expensive woodsy aftershave. Very manly. Since I hate men I hate it. Until I breathe it in again and I realise I want this exact smell made into candle. After another hour of sitting on the cold bleacher in a comfortable silence the tryouts draw to a close. As the coaches farewell the boys and explain procedure for tomorrow I stay behind them trying to very subtly look at Times butt. One can appreciate fine art without owning it. As the boys walk off to the changing shed Tim and the other coaches walk towards me. "Faith I would like you to meet Tony, Davis, Jason and Mike" Tim says to me gesturing at the four men beside him."

"Well hi y'all, I'm Faith," I say hoping I don't sound half as nervous as I feel.

"Well you sure don't have nothing on old Miss Gracie but it is lovely to meet you." The one who I'm pretty sure is called Jason says stepping forward to shake my hand. "And already wearing team colours, good picking Tim!" he says making me blush for some reason.

"I'm gonna get myself and Faith home but I'm sure we will all get to know each other quite well this season" Tim says grabbing his bag indicating that it is finally time to go home.

"It was lovely to meet y'all" I say waving them goodbye as Tim and I walk up to his truck.

"I hope they're not to intense for you, if they bother you just let me know," Tim says as we buckle ourselves in. He is a very protective guy, but his mom said he was always like that with his sisters. Awesome, Tim thinks of me as a sister. I'm glad since I don't like him or men and I don't want to be in a relationship right now.

"No, they're fine. Everybody at school was very nice, especially Karla and Russell." I tell him.

"I'm glad you had a good first day." We continue driving but I don't recognise the road we take.

"Tim, where are we going?" I ask slightly confused.

"Mom didn't say, y'all are having dinner at my place tonight."
