Another London picture. The Shard is in the background!
"It may be good if you try and use your powers soon. Using them may help your dragon heal," one of the healers tells me
"How does that work? Surely that would weaken me?" I ask with a frown.
"As your body heals, your dragon side regains its power. As it regains its power, you heal quicker. It's a circular process. Using your power will help you reconnect with your magic. It may also relax you a lot more," he tells me. I nod my head and slowly lie back down with a long sigh. For one long month, I've been lying in this bed. The pain continued for a week and a half as did the slipping in and out of consciousness. After that, it began to ease a little to an ache all over. I still had to sleep a lot but not as much. Over the last week, I've been doing a lot better. I still hurt a lot, but I am a little stronger and can stay awake for most of the day. Occasionally, I still puke up blood though. Apparently, it may be something I am stuck with for the rest of my life. In fact, I may be stuck with some sort of pain also.
Lady Indira walks in.
"How are you today?" she asks.
"Better," I reply. "When can I go back to class?" I ask.
"Not until you are strong enough," she frowns. I sigh.
"Your body has been through a lot, Isla. You can't push it. Small steps," she tells me.
"Yeah, I know, but I am falling so far behind." She takes a seat on the end of my bed and smiles warmly.
"You'll catch up in no time. Soon, you'll be back up to your full strength." I nod and smile.
"Thank you, for all of your support," I say to her. She just smiles again and places a hand on mine.
Toryn comes in.
"Morning," he says to myself and Lady Indira. "We're going into the city, can Isla come?" he asks.
"Yes! Please!" I shout, desperate to just get out of this room and this bed.
"Very well, but she'll have a guard with her," Lady Indira instructs.
"Yay!" I shout, trying to pull myself up. Toryn comes over to help.
After the healers help me dress, I sit in a carriage heading down to the city. I lean against Toryn, not feeling up to sitting straight and wanting to be near my brother. Serenity and Tanya sit opposite, chatting away about what has been happening in my absence.
"Yeah, Tanya and Eric have been spending a lot of time together," Serenity giggles.
"Serenity," Tanya groans.
