Daisy's P.O.V

The morning of the funeral was okay. Better than I expected. We got up early to have breakfast. Except nobody ate breakfast. We were all too nervous to eat. I don't know what to wear at a funeral. I've never been to one. Something black. But what? Did I have something black? Yes of course I did. Something appropriate, that's the question. I settled for my black flats with black tights and this black dress that does straight down above the knees. I think that's okay. Right?

"It'll be okay." Chris says as we prepare to leave.

"I know it will." I smile.

 "Have you got your speech?"

 "Yeah. It's only short."

We arrive at the church in plenty of time. I tell the others to pay their respects to the rest of my family and go in as I speak to my aunt. Of course PJ didn't come, so I watch the four of them walk off together.

"How are you?" I ask, giving her a light hug.

"Better than I was a few days ago, that's for sure." She sighed.

"I know. Did Uncle Ian help you get through it?"

"Of course he did, a angel as always. How about your friends? Did that Chris boy help?"

"Yeah. Yeah he did. They all did."

"They seem lovely. Where did you meet them?"

"Oh..it's a long story." I smile to myself.

She was about to answer but the funeral was about to begin, so we walked arm in arm into the church. I found Chris and sat next to him at the front. He gave me a quick kiss and offered me his arm. I took it gladly.

When I was in the middle of my speech, someone quietly came in and sat at the back. I gave a quick glance. PJ gave me a small smile. I smiled back as numerous people looked. I said my speech and despite feeling like absolute shit I didn't cry that much at all. Perhaps I couldn't cry anymore. My tear ducts were too dry. After we buried her and said our last goodbyes, I said hello to family and friends I hadn't seen in years. Chris stayed by my side the whole time. As the boyfriend it was his 'legal obligation' according to my step sister, but I ignored her.

She annoyed me.

Out of the corner of my eye I spotted someone. Someone I knew all too well.

Paul?
