Chapter 7 ~Blushes~

                                    

                                          
Serena's POV
                          


                          
"Serena?"
                          
I just barely heard my name over my crying. I wiped my teary eyes and sniffled, then looked up.
                          
"Wh-who said..." I stopped, in shock. Staring at me was a boy, with messy raven hair, auburn eyes, and a Pikachu on his shoulder.
                          
No way... it can't be...
                          
"A-Ash?" I stutter and stand up.
                          
He runs over to me, but unlike him, I am frozen. He stops in front of me and smiles wide.
                          
"Serena! What are you doing here? I thought you were gaining experience in Hoenn!" he said.
                          
Please don't mention the kiss...
                          
"U-um, yeah, I was, but um... I-I was a little stressed from everything... so I'm on vacation right now. I had no idea you were going to be here, though...," I responded, not quite able to make contact, so I looked down.
                          
Of course Ash was here! Ugh! I mean, I was happy to see him, but this is the whole reason I took a vacation, to get my mind off of him! I'm crazy! And I lost the ribbon he gave me! He will be so mad!
                          
But, while I was looking down at the sand, I realized he was holding the ribbon there in his hand. I gasped. "Y-you found the ribbon!"
                          
He looked at it. "Oh. Yeah, it was blowing in the wind, and it looked familiar so I grabbed it. Is that why you were crying?"
                          
I nodded, embarrassed. "Yeah, heh... I'm so glad you were here to find it... someone else wouldn't have known how much it meant to me," I said, blushing.
                          
Ash laughed. "I'm glad you care about it a lot, Serena. I would've been upset if I lost something from you, too." I blushed even more, but forced a giggle. He held out the ribbon for me to take back, and I quickly did so, tying it back around my wrist.
                          
I had been in so much shock that I didn't realize my Pokemon had ran up beside me, and were reuniting with Pikachu. And Ash, of course. I smiled, and knelt down to pet Pikachu. He unexpectedly jumped into my arms, causing me to fall backward. I laughed, and so did Ash.
                          
After Pikachu tackled me, he ran back up on Ash's shoulder happily. Ash scratched Pikachu's chin and then walked a little closer to me. I was still on the ground, I realized. Ash held out a hand to me.
                          
"Need some help?" he said with a smile.
                          
Who even knows what my face looks like at this point.
                          
I hesitantly grabbed his hand and he pulled me up. I made sure not to lose balance, that way there wouldn't be an awkward hug like the first time we met. I brushed myself, and fixed my crooked hat.
                          
"So how's Hoenn, Serena? You like it there?" he asked, breaking the awkward silence I had created. I nodded and smiled slightly, trying not to speak due to my awful stuttering. "Awesome! I liked it there, too when I traveled there a while ago."
                          
I told him that I had met May, causing him to ask me how she was doing. He also asked about her little brother, Max, who I've only met a few times.
                          
It was getting darker, and I looked at the sun set. It was gorgeous. Ash saw me looking, so he did, too. "Sunsets are really quite somethin' here in Alola, aren't they?" he said, then looking at me.
                          
"Mhm. Oh, I have to get back to my hotel before I can't see anything," I said.
                          
"Okay. Hey, since it's getting late, wanna meet up here tomorrow? I want you to meet some people. I think you guys will be great friends."
                          
"Oh, sure. That sounds wonderful," I said with a smile.
                          
"Alright! See ya tomorrow, Serena!" he said, running away and waving. I waved back, and put my Pokemon in there Pokeballs and packed up. Then I went back to my hotel.
                          
You know, I never would have thought I would see Ash again this way. Well, thank goodness he didn't bring up the kiss... yet.
                          
And, what I realized while walking back to the hotel, I was in a bikini the entire time.
