P.O.V of Robin.
I entered Slade's cell with his food and drink, well, the stolen food and drink was more accurate but hey. It worked for me.
"I managed to do tonight's jobs." I said as I entered and put the food down on his cot.
"All of them?" He asked as he picked up the mash of burnt cookies, crisps and sweets I had managed to steal.
"Yeah, but I am now faced with a dilemma." I moaned as I sat on the floor, my back against his cot.
"What?" He asked as he started on his food.
"I'm leading the next mission to find me." I replied, "And if I don't Bruce will beat me into next week. So I'm left with fail and get beaten or don't show up and get beaten."
"You could pretend you're ill." Slade suggested.
"Then I'll get beaten for allowing myself to get ill." I replied.
"I guess you are stuck." He said, "Let me look at your arm."
I lifted my broken arm to him and he prodded a bit, "That hurts you know."
"It might but it's mostly healed, you just need gauze now, no need for the cast." He replied.
"If you say so." I sang.
"What are you going to do for the mission?" Slade asked after a moment of silence.
"I don't know." I whispered, "Bruce is going to make my life hell though." I felt a tear track down my face.
"Hey Dickie, look at me." Slade said and I did, "It's going to be okay. You're the strongest kid I've ever met. And do you know what will cheer you up?"
"What?" I sniffled.
"When I get out you can come and live with me permanently." Slade said, "Bruce never fully adopted you so that means I can still adopt you. It took me two years Dickie bird, but I can free you of that horrible man."
"Really?" I asked hopeful.
"Really." He replied and I enveloped him in a hug.
"You should really go, your team are probably looking for you." Slade said.
"I'm sure I can spend a few minutes longer with you." I said.P.O.V of Wally.
It had been three hours since Rob said he was going to check on Deathstroke for us and he still hadn't returned.
"Should we check he's okay?" I asked the team.
I got a few nods in response and we all walked down to Deathstroke's cell.
"Can you hear anything Conner?" I asked and he shook his head.
"What if he escape and took Rob with him?" I asked.
"Open the door Kid Idiot." Artemis said, "Just to be sure."
I nodded and slowly opened the door. The team gasped and I looked in to see what they saw. Rob was curled up in a ball in Deathstroke's arms, both of them asleep.
"Do you think Deathstroke drugged him?" I asked but got no response.
"We should tell Batman." Aqualad said.
"No," Artemis said, "Look closer. He's not wearing his mask."
I looked and sure enough Rob had dumped his mask on the floor, which meant he had showed Deathstroke his identity. What was happening?
"What are you guys doing here?" I heard and looked back over to see Deathstroke facing us, his ice blue eye staring at us.
"What are you doing with Robin?" Artemis fired back.
"Sleeping." He said.
"Slade, what's going on?" Rob asked, half-asleep in the man's eyes.
"Your team are here." He growled, "But don't worry. I won't let them hurt you."
"Would you like me to deal with them?" Robin asked, now moving and putting his mask on.
What was happening to my best friend?
"I guess now is a good time to see if the serum fully works," Slade grinned, "Bring me the fast one."
Without hesitation Robin lunged at me. I dropped but he grabbed shoulders and pulled himself around. Aqualad threw him off me into the nearest wall whilst Artemis got a vial out of her pocket.
"What is that?" I asked as I ran towards her.
"It cures most mind controlling drugs." She replied as Robin lunged at me again, but he never reached me as Artemis shoved the contents of the vial down his throat.
"No," Deathstroke growled, "Robin, kill them."
Robin didn't move from where he was now choking.
"I said kill them." Deathstroke said.
Robin stood back up and looked at me then back at Deathstroke, "No." He said, slammed the door in his face and stormed off.
"Rob!" I called.
"What?" He asked, turning back around to face me.
"What did he do to you?" I asked.
"It doesn't matter." He replied.
"Robin," Aqualad said, "We must know so that we can all be prepared."
"Fine." Robin huffed, "When I entered to get some more answers out of him he managed to inject me with some serum. My mind went foggy and I don't remember much. That's all, now I want to go home."
We didn't stop him as he left through the Zeta beams. The clock on the wall chimed the new day."He'll be back for his shift as leader." Aqualad said, "For now, let us rest."
