A year has passed, Nobuo making a full recovery and returning to ninja duties. For our first anniversary, Kakashi brought me to a hot spring. The hot water had been lined with deep red and pure white rose petals, their fragrance rising enticingly. He had left a trail of roses from the spring to the bedroom and roses had littered out bed. It had been a VERY romantic getaway.
Thinking about it makes me blush. On the bright side, things were going great. We hadn't seen or heard from the rain ninja in quite some time. I felt like everything was back to the way it was supposed to be. More or less. My father and brother, Sadao would never come home, but on the plus side Nobuo had survived and came home. He had taken four months to heal entirely before leading three squads back to where the secret scroll had been hidden from the enemy. We had joined the search and it had been found in no time.
Right now I was resting against a tree, being on yet another escort mission. It was funny how paranoid these lords were when it came to leaving their homes. Not that it bothered me since I was being paid to do this. I had nothing to lose. I am shaken out of my thoughts by a loud complaining voice that sounded extremely nasally. A shiver ran down my spine at the sound of it. I hate it when people sound like that. It sounds so fake
Kakashi looks over at me and lets out a small sigh. Apparently he wasn't too impressed with this mission either. We were on the last legs of the escort journey, bringing the lord home. It was about a half hour away, later in the afternoon. I was minding my own business as usual, not having much of a care for the noble. My only mission was to escort him, not to like him. It had been an exhausting week, and I was more tired right now than I had been in a while. It took what felt like Years to reach the Lord's palace. He complained about his back hurting the ENTIRE last half hour of the journey.
His robust figure climbs out of his Palanquin, making the palanquin bearers breathe out a sigh or relief as they sink to their knees. I immediately feel bad for them. They had to deal with him after this I did not. The advisor to the Lord thanks us and then they disappear into the palace. I breathe a sigh of relief as we turn to leave. I let out a frustrated sigh. "I didn't like him," I grumble to Kakashi as I kick my shoe across the dirt road. Kakashi laughs and agrees.
As we walk back, I take a break quick. "I have to pee. I will be right back," I tell Kakashi as I hobble off towards the bushes. I get about 80 feet away and squat to do my business. When I pulled my pants up and turned around, I stilled instantly. I could feel eyes on me. A rustling in the leaves caused me to turn sharply, only to slam into the chest of my attacker.
I never saw it coming. A large male body slammed into my own, throwing me off of my feet as large hands find their way around my neck. My Hitai-ate is knocked completely off of my neck. I cough slightly as my head feels like it is going to burst. My hands were pinned behind my back, making it impossible to struggle out of his grip or to even defend myself. Within seconds, my vision began to swim. 'K... Kakashi' I think as I begin to black out, the dark haired face of my attacker swimming before my eyes before disappearing completely.

(Kakashi's Point of View)
I sigh impatiently. She has been gone for more than a few minutes. I had the sinking feeling that something was wrong. She should have been back by this point. I swallow thickly and head in the direction she went. After about two minutes of walking, I notice something shining on the ground. As I take a closer look, I let out a gasp. In the grass was her Red Hitai-ate and a single Kunai. I look around desperately, but she is nowhere to be found.
Frantically I summon Pakun to my side. "What is it boss?" He asks me as I pace back and forth. "Shizuka has been Kidnapped. We need to find her," I tell him desperately. Pakun nods and sets about sniffing the damp grass. After about two minutes he looks at me sadly and shakes his head. "It's no good boss. They used a water style jutsu to wash away her scent from the area. I am unable to pick anything up," He tells me. My heart nearly gives out. "DAMNIT!" I yell as I grip my hair angrily. I turn and summon the rest of my ninja hounds. "Biscuit... I want you to alert the Hokage about Shizuka being Kidnapped. The rest of you spread out and try to pick up her scent. Head out," I order as Pakun and I set out.
We search for quite some time, hours even before the light starts fading. As the last dregs of light leave the sky, We finally catch a whiff of her scent. The scent is rapidly fading, so we take off immediately trying to catch up, thought we knew we had lost at least four hours of ground. This was going to be a very difficult rescue mission. I hoped I got there before they did anything to hurt her. I needed to be faster than I had ever been before, but there was nothing I could do at this moment but track her and try to catch up. They had the advantage right now.
I hurried, trying to keep myself from thinking about what was happening to her right now. I was terrified that what happened last time would happen again. "Boss, you need to calm down. If you keep going like this, you will be too worn out to save her, especially if he gets to his help before you can rescue her. I nod begrudgingly and focus on the task at hand. "I will rescue you, Shizuka. I promise." I vow out loud as my determination is set.
(Sorry :/ Went trick or treating last night for final time. Got home last night afterwards and the apartment was TRASHED. Damn dogs had a party while I was gone and only invited me along as cleanup crew. So I spent HOURS cleaning. It was like the litterbox had exploded all over the entire apartment. My female husky ate an entire couch cushion on top of the litterbox mess. How do I know it was her? Because she dragged HALF of it in her kennel with her. Hopefully this never happens to you. Next update is going to be either before or after I go to work today. Have a good day and I hope you had a great Halloween)
