The Winchesters split up at the entrance of the mansion. "You know the plan?" Sam asked.
"Yeah. I got it. See you inside," Dean said, nudging Sam up the steps. Sam nodded and made his way into the manor. Dean looked up at the stars, something he hadn't done for ages. His eyes raked across the sky as a soft wind picked up, blowing his hair in miniature torrents around his face. He shivered in the chilly breeze, and began up the stairs, careful not to trip in his high heels. The shoes, however, had different ideas. One of his heels caught in a fracture in the marble steps, throwing him forwards. Dean crashed into the arms of a man. He looked up and blushed a little in embarrassment, "Hey, Cas."
The angel smiled fondly at the hunter, gently setting him back on his feet. "Hello, Dean."
"Thanks, Cas, but now you need to get out of here. Zaruzhal has probably already noticed the presence of an angel at his party. I don't want you to get hurt." Castiel nodded solemnly before disappearing.
Moments later, the demon appeared in the doorway. "Miss Jess?"
Dean forced a smile and placed his hand in the outstretched one of the monster. "I'm not sure I quite caught your name the other night."
"Michael Zaruzhal."
"Interesting name," Dean said as he was led into the main ballroom. "Family one?"
"It's quite old, yes. The name Zaruzhal originated in Latium hundreds of years ago. It actually means-"
Dean snickered. "I meant Michael."
"Ah, yes," the demon smiled. "A woman with character. I love it. Speaking of love," he turned and ran his eyes across the ballroom, "where is yours?"
Biting his lip, Dean leaned towards Zaruzhal, trying not to gag at the overwhelming scent of sulfur. "I gave him the slip when we got here. Figured I could try to spend a little more time with you. You know, get to know each other?"
"I do believe I would enjoy that very much. Care for a drink?"
"Love one," Dean replied.
"Anything particular?"
Dean smirked teasingly, "I'm looking at a pretty good one right now. One that owes me some magic tricks."
Zaruzhal's face split into a grin. "Let me show you upstairs." Dean picked up his skirt and followed him up the grand staircase, momentarily locking eyes with his brother. Sam nodded slightly, pursing his lips tightly. Dean nodded back before turning back to the demon and suddenly wincing. "Is everything alright?"
Dean replied shyly, "Just these shoes..."
"Perhaps we should remove them?" Zaruzhal asked, opening a door to a large bedroom. Dean gasped as he was pushed against the wall, his face turning crimson. "Do you think I'm stupid?" he hissed in Dean's ear.
"W-what do you mean?"
"Do you really expect me to believe that you're inexperienced? A gorgeous little minx like yourself doesn't need to be shy. I can promise you it will be good."
Dean heaved a sigh of relief. "Well, I wasn't sure, but maybe you'd be interested in demonstrating an escape trick for me?" he held up a pair of handcuffs. "See how badly you're itching for me."
"With pleasure," he held out his wrists.
Dean snapped the cuffs on. "That was easy. Thank you for cooperating."
Zaruzhal's eyes flashed black in anger. "What is the meaning of this?"
"Oh, those are demon-trap handcuffs, buddy," Dean smirked, kicking off the shoes that seemed suddenly too small. "You're gonna be in those until you find a way to get me back to normal."
"Who are you?"
Sam and Cas appeared in the doorway, one with a satisfied smirk, the other with his eyes narrowed in anger and confusion. "I'm Dean Winchester, pal. Surprise." Before he could roar in anger, Zaruzhal was transported to the bunker with the help of one trench-coated angel. Castiel reappeared a moment later, ready to bring the boys back. "Take Sammy, I'll meet you there," Dean instructed. "Last time you zapped me somewhere, I didn't-"
"Thank you, Dean, that will be all!" Sam exclaimed. "But Cas is coming back to travel with you. I don't think that Z would be alone, and I don't want you get hurt."
"Awe, Sammy cares about his big brother Dean?"
The younger Winchester rolled his eyes. "I'll see you back home."
"Yep," Dean winced slightly as his stomach cramped. Once Cas and his brother disappeared, he hurried down the stairs and towards the front doors. Dean abruptly froze in the center of the ballroom, a loud tearing sound halting the party in its tracks. Dean's eyes widened in panic as he slowly looked down. "Shit..."
