EDITED

Victor POV

Its the first day of the new year and I reluctantly get in my newly bought car to drive to school. It's my first year at 6th form college and I'm extremely anxious about it, I recently moved to the area so none of my friends from my old school will be going to the same place as me and to be brutally honest I'm not particularly good at making new friends. My old friend Chris, I pretty much stalked for a month before he started talking to me. Of course he got over it and we were basically brothers by the time we left, but none the less he definitely thought I was weird.

The truth is that I'm actually 17. A few years ago I had an accident and got ill. Not seriously, but enough to land me in hospital for a few months. I tried my best to keep up with school work but to no avail, as I ended up getting held back a year anyway.

❄️❄️❄️

I snap out of my thoughts as I walk up to the school, eyeing the other students as I pass through the front gate, though careful not to draw attention to myself. Ok let's see, my first class is...History.

The room I walk into is quite small. The teacher is sat at the front of the class organising some papers whilst students began to filter in through the door, smiling and giggling amongst friends. I try to walk confidently to the back of the room wanting to make a good impression and sit down next to a boy with raven hair.

He's smaller than I am (unsurprisingly considering I'm older than everyone here) and he has soft brown eyes...

"Hello... Can I help you?" He says with a rather harsh tone of voice.

"Um, s-sorry. Do you mind if I sit here?" I half stutter for a second losing the confidence I tried so hard to portray.

"Do whatever you want. Just quit staring at me." He snaps again.

I hadn't realised until he said that but I had been staring at him for the past 5 minutes, I don't know why but there was just something about him...

"Ok everybody..." the teacher starts and I lean back in my chair staring at the ceiling this time, instead of the raven-haired boy sitting next to me. After a long speech on why Edward the Confessor had caused a disputed succession or whatever, the teacher relents talking and set us some work to get on with. So I turn back to the boy on my left...

"What's your name?" I whisper, so as not to get called out by the teacher.

I wait but get no reply. Maybe he didn't hear me so this time I try again, a little louder.

"What's your name?" I say.

Still I get no reply, I feel anger rising in me. I don't like to be ignored, "I'll ask you one more time, what's your name?"

This time the teacher at the front of the room stands up, points at me, and at the same time yells "You, move to the front"

Reluctantly I pick up my bag and books and walk down the classroom to the front, everyone staring at me, including the raven-haired boy.

Hell of a way to make a first impression victor. Good job.

I plop down at an empty desk right in front of the teacher and look back at the raven-haired boy whose eyes fix on mine. I expect him to look away but he doesn't, his eyes were hard and showed no emotion, this was certainly not the kind of reaction I was anticipating when I decided to try and make a friend.
