"Do you want to talk about it?" Mark asked.

Jack once again thought about the past events. He didn't want to re-live his horrible nightmares by telling the whole story.

"N-not right now....."

"Do you want to just stay here for the day? We could call off the Uber."

For a second, Jack kind of wanted to cry. These things were happening to him, and he didn't know why. Now Mark needed his car and his money, and it was his fault they were being delayed.

"No, we can still go out. Besides, you still need your things."

"Are you sure? Because we could always wait for, you know, your lazy ass to get a licence." Mark said, lightening the mood.

Jack lightly chuckled. His friends always knew how to make him happy. He was lucky to have them.

"Ok, now we should go. The Uber is here. You sure you still want to go out?"

"Yeah, I'm sure."

Jack and Mark both collected themselves, heading out door to the Uber.

"Sorry it took a few minutes, my friend all of sudden decided to start dying and I had to save him." Mark told the driver, laughing.

"Nah, it's cool. Gave me time to talk to my girl. So you're headed to the car rental place right?"

"That would be correct."

The drive to the place was about 15 minutes long. Mark and Jack would talk to each other, and occasionally the driver would enter the conversation. After about an hour, Mark had his car, and he and Jack were heading to the bank so he could exchange his dollars for euros.

Mark turned to see that Jack had fallen asleep. He thought about waking him up, but decided not to. After his panic attack this morning, he was probably exhausted. He wondered what had triggered the attack. Did it have anything to do with the others night when Mark walked in on him staring and that knife?

Jack slightly moved around in his sleep, making small noises.

"No......stop......"

Mark looked in confusion. He didn't know Jack talked in his sleep.

"Stop it...no...." his voice was slightly louder then before.

Mark lightly shook him, trying to wake him up.

"I'm sorry....no....Please! PLEASE STOP! I DIDN'T MEAN TO! LET ME GO! LET ME GO! LET ME GO!"

By now, Mark had pulled over, and was frantically shaking Jack.

"Jack! JACK! WAKE UP! WAKE UP!"

He started struggling in Marks arms, "NO, DON'T TOUCH ME! LEAVE ME ALONE!"

"JACK, IT'S ME CALM DOWN! WAKE UP!"

Jack opened his eyes, finally waking up. He was breathing heavily, and was covered in sweats. Mark then saw something on Jack's usually happy face he thought he never would. Tears.

Jack had his hands in his hair, crying. Mark was a little awkward and didn't really know what to do. He eventually did the only thing he could think of, and pulled Jack into a hug.

"It's ok, just calm down. You're safe, it's ok."

"I d-don't know what's happening to me."

"It's fine. Now, we're going to go back to the house, ok?"

They both got back in the car after a few more minutes. The car drive was long and quiet. Every once and a while Mark would sneak a peek at Jack. He was just, staring off into space every time.

When they got to the house, Mark took it upon himself to unlock the door with his key. When he opened it, Jack walked in, and went to his room, and closed the door.

No eye contact, no words exchanged, just nothing. Mark pulled out his phone, dialing a number.

"Hello? This is Mark Fischbach . Yes. I'm calling on behalf of Séan McLoughlin, he won't be able to make it to his solo Q&A panel tomorrow. He's feeling a bit...under the weather. Do you think maybe he'll be able to...umm...share my Q&A schedule for the next day? Yeah. I just don't want him to miss meeting his fans or feel bad for not being able to to see them. Yes. Ok. Perfect. See you then. Bye bye."

He went up the Jacks door, lightly knocking.

"We don't have to go to the convention tomorrow, I got them to let you share my panel with me."

Nothing.

"So....you can stay here tomorrow."

No response.

"Jack?"

Mark grew concerned.

"You ok in there?"

When there wasn't an answer, he used his last resort.

"I have cookies."

A small crack formed in the door.

"Yes?" Jack answered.

"My god, even after all that your still yourself."

Jack chuckled. But on the inside, he felt like hiding in a corner. He didn't know what was happening to him, why, or what to do about it. Sure, he was still himself, but for how long?
