"Ready Zo?" Jax asked me. I nodded, grabbing my suitcase.
"Yeah. Let's go." I sighed, heading to the door. I dragged my bag into the elevator as we rode down a few floors before the door opened again. Before my eyes stood Brody. He was wearing a sweatshirt with some nike shorts. His hair was messy and he had dark bags under his eyes. I honestly probably didn't look much better. Since our fight two days ago, I haven't gotten much sleep. We stayed in Austin for a while, doing touristy things. He walked in, as I sinked into the wall. I felt Lukus put his arm around my shoulders, as I leaned on him. Brody stared me down, as I glanced at him.
"Zoey. We-" he started. I shook my head.
"No." I cut him off. The elevator binged and we walked out to the lobby. I threw my stuff in Jax's car, hugging him.
"You sure you don't mind me riding with you and Julie?" I asked him. He gave me a weak smile shaking his head.
"I promise it's fine." I grinned. Julie came around hugging Jax from behind.
"Yeah. Don't worry Zoey. It's fine. But you do need to make up with him." She told me. I let out a frustrated sigh, glancing at Brody, putting his things away.
"I know. I'm just not ready yet." I whispered. Jax came up to me, gripping my shoulders.
"It's fine if your not ready, but sometimes, the hardest things are done in the hardest times." He said. I nodded, looking back at Brody. He was leaning against his car, watching me. I sighed, nodding.
"You're right. I'll ride with him." I muttered. Jax nodded, getting my things. He followed me to Brody truck, as his face was shocked.
"Zoey?" He asked. I shook my head, climbing in the front seat. I watched as Jax stepped up to Brody.
"She really is hurt. She hasn't slept in two days. Fix this." I heard. I sighed, leaning on the chair. I felt a tear slip from my eyes, down my cheek. He climbed in, slamming the door. I glanced at him, wiping away my tears. He roughly ran his hand through his messy hair, exhaling. He looked at me, trying to smile. I closed my eyes, turning away.
"Fine." He muttered, starting the truck. I opened my eyes, staring out my window as he began to drive. I pulled out my headphones, playing my music. I watched the road as I felt my eyes slowly close, putting me into a deep sleep.
Dream:
I stood up, seeing nothing but darkness. I tried to find a light, but couldn't."Hello!" I called out. No one answered.
"Hello?" I called out again, weaker. When no one answered, I sat down on the floor. I began to close my eyes, as if giving up, when something touched my shoulder.
"Why give up? All you must do is believe." A voice said. I jolted yo from my seated position, scrambling around looking for the voice. I finally accepted defeat, and decided to listen to it. I took a deep breath, seeing light and then a small light bulb turned on. I ran to it, pulling the small string attached, as everything lit up and I heard a sudden buzz around me. I looked around and saw I was at a football field. I looked down and I was wearing my cheer uniform.
"It's Brody!" I heard a girl call. I turned around and saw my cheer team taking a knee, as one of my team mates ran out to Brody, limp on the field. I began to run, but someone grabbed my arm.
"Zoey! Where are you going?" Baley asked me. I looked at her than at Brody with the girl.
"To Brody." I muttered, fear glazed in my voice.
