Hello everyone, guess who's back?Yep, yours truly, resurrected from the depths of Netflix marathons and snack binges to finally tackle this book again. This time, I promise to keep the procrastination monsters at bay... or at least try to shoo them away with a broom or something!
Yes, I'm very much alive, and I've returned with my book in hand. I can't believe I wrote this, a horrendous piece of Art. But don't come at me, I was young. However, I've decided that you all deserve the ending to this story and a better version overall. So, I've changed the story (main plot is still the same), the title and the cover.
Why you may ask? Because new me, new everything.
I've put in the work to fill plot holes, develop characters, and overall make it more readable. But this comes with a cost. The book now delves into some very dark themes, which might be uncomfortable for some readers. So, please be mindful of yourself if you decide to read it.
Major warning: Read the book at your own discretion: childhood trauma, child abuse (physical), suicide, bullying, character death, self-harm, confinement, illness.
I will add to the warnings as I write the chapters, but for now, this is all I can think of.
Once again, the basic disclaimer: This book is entirely a fictional piece of art. It intends no hate towards any group, ethnicity, religion, etc. Most of my characters are Muslims, and if you harbour any judgments about Muslims, please keep them to yourself and move on to the next book.
I must clarify that my characters are not portrayed as perfect Muslims. They are far from perfect and make mistakes. Don't learn Islam from here. If you want to learn about Islam, turn to proper resources.
If you're here expecting a happy-go-lucky romance, well, buckle up, because if I had to sum up my protagonist's life in one word, it would be: MISERABLE. Seriously, if there's a way for things to go wrong, she'll find it.
The poor girl couldn't find happiness if it smacked her in the face with a bouquet of roses. If happiness were currency, she'd be bankrupt.
No, actually, she is B-R-O-K-E.
If this isn't your cup of tea, then I apologise to my girlies who want to read it. Please forgive me... I could only come up with this. I've racked my brain to the point that my hair loss has increased, along with my grey hairs at this young age.
Fictionally I want the male lead, but in reality, I'm rooting for the second male lead. I'm not Anjali; I'll always choose Aman. Who in their right mind would choose Rahul? (If you know, you know).
Yep, I've officially caught a case of Second Male Lead Syndrome from my own book! It's like a curse that follows me everywhere—whether I'm knee-deep in books or binge-watching K-dramas, I somehow always find myself rooting for the guy who's destined to finish second. #AlwaysOntheSideOfNeverGonnaGetTheGirlKindaGuys
"I hereby DECLARE to update this masterpiece every Wednesday! Cue the confetti, folks!"
Now, let's all join hands and pray that your girl here actually sticks to her own given deadlines. And if, by some miraculous twist of fate, I miss an update... well, you have my permission to stage a protest. Pitchforks optional.
But hey, forgiveness is always on the table, right? Maybe with a side of chocolate? Let's embark on this rollercoaster of updates together, folks!"
