Chapter 35

Charlie, can you go get the chocolate fountain? Eunice is going to be here and I don't want her to get all aggressive.

"Yes ma'am," the interpreter bowed. Charlie left the den room whilst Ashley finished setting up the last of the pillows on the floor. There were countless of snacks on the table, enough sweets to give everyone a toothache or possibly diabetes, different types of soft drinks, and all the junk food a girl could ever dream of. The ground was padded in a thin layer of foam mattress so her guests would be comfortable anywhere.

'Dios mio, I hope everything goes according to plan. Or at least somewhat according to plan, now that would be a miracle.' Ashley dryly chuckled.

She planned all the activities for her slumber party, from the tiniest of details to ensure the success of her get together. First they would talk and get to know each other better, play some games, do makeovers, then watch movies, and finally she would take the girls up to her room where the whole floor was replaced with mattresses. Ashley felt that her plans would not go exactly as planned, but it didn't matter as long as the girls behaved themselves. She was excited, despite earlier events with her boyfriend.

Charlie entered the room with the fountain. "Where do you want this?" Ashley pointed next to a random spot in the corner.

"So, liebling, anything else you need?" Charlie flopped on the couch and stared at her expectantly. When his boss told him about the slumber party, the interpreter was ecstatic. Finally his girl will be connected with the other female students at school and hopefully she could mend her relationship with Mandy. He never worried about her guy friends, that he knew she would have plenty of, but it was making friends that were the same sex he worried about. Ashley always had problems with making friends with the girls since they felt threatened.

With one last look around the room, satisfied she turned to her long time friend. Get out.

Charlie frowned, "Why?"

Ashley rolled her eyes, Because it's weird for a 40 year old man be surrounded by hormonal teenage girls who have the hots for you. It would be best if you weren't here.

"You're father said to stay to supervise the party." That was complete bull. Whenever Andrew wasn't home, Charlie didn't exactly do what his boss asked him to do. He only wanted to be there to help things run smoothly as possible. In that occasion, he wanted to be there for her for the heck of it. He was like a proud mother that took too many unnecessary photos.

Ashley smiled, amused. You are such a liar. However, if you're so worried about the party I already got a chaperone.

He looked at her confused, "Who-"

The front door slammed open, heavy footsteps stomped forward and stopped at the foot of the staircase."Alright kiddos! I'm stuck here for the next few hours, so don't be a pain in my ass," Cat shouted out.

"Catherine!" Charlie yelled-whispered, "Catherine is going to babysit you!"

Ashley blinked, a hand was placed over her heart. Babysit? She was offended.

"Yes Catherine is. Oh quit your whining Harley, it could be worse." The chef growled. Charlie frowned, he was bitter. Ashley picked her over him, he was her best friend, her trusted companion, and she picked the woman who despised the Smith family. Long story short, Catherine and Matthew had a thing: keyword had.

Cat noticed his brooding. "What's wrong Harley? You jealous?" She teased. She loved messing with him whenever the opportunity presented itself available.
