The pictures rattled on the wall as Heather slammed her door. A frame fell making the the glass shatter. The photo was of her and the other two Heathers playing croquet. A storm of footsteps followed behind her and pushed open her bedroom door.

"How many times do I have to tell you, don't slam your door? You cracked one of the pictures! " Mac's mom held up the photo.

"I don't care about that photo anymore! It's useless and so are you!" Heather fully screamed.

"Heather! I cannot believe you, I have always been there for you!"

"No you haven't, you haven't done a goddamn thing to me except making my life more hell! You and dad both." Full disclosure she liked her mom at one point, but that began unraveling.

"I've done so much for you, you're so ungrateful and selfish! I'm sorry that you haven't had the best life but that's your dad's fault."

"Oh and I'm selfish, don't put all the blame on dad. You both did equal damage."

"Quit acting so innocent and naïve. You act like you haven't made my life hell. Before you were born I was able to do so many things but now I have a seventeen year old to take care of."

"And somehow that's my fault?" McNamara felt tears forming as she took a few steps close to her mom.

"Yes. All you do is act like you're perfect. You act as if you've don't nothing wrong. All I wanted was a daughter who actually listens and who actually loves her mom. You are a disgrace to me! You're a drag and you think the world revolves are you. Sometimes I wish you were never born!"

Mac took one more step towards her and took a deep breath. All she could hear was Heather Duke coming from Melissa's lips. She brought her hand up and slapped her mom as hard as she could. There was a slight moment of silence with Heather gasping. She couldn't believe what she had done. Everything happened so fast.

"Get. Out. Of. My. House. Now!" She screamed at the top of her lungs with her left cheek bright red.

Heather ran out of the house and into her car as quick as she could. She jumped into the drivers seat and threw her head down onto the steering wheel, bursting into tears. She could feel mascara running down. She felt so foolish. How could she slap her mom?

Mac inserted the keys into the ignition and started the car, but where could she go? She didn't want to go to her dad's and Duke is out of the question. She didn't make the best impression on Mrs. Chandler, so she couldn't go there. What about Veronica? But I'm sure her parents would never allow it.

Heather stepped on the gas pedal and sped off. She found herself in a street she'd seen maybe once then parked in front of the flickering street lamp. She slammed her head as hard as she could onto the steering wheel, again, watching everything go black.

She woke up due to the sunlight pouring through the windows. "Ugh." She brought her hand up to her forehead to feel a huge knot bruised blue and purple. Mac squinted her eyes and looked down at the clock. 7:34am. She forgot what day it was, she forgot what happened, she forgot almost everything from last night. All she wanted to do was cry in her mom's arms, but that wasn't an option at the moment.

McNamara gathered her thoughts and made her way to the school. She pulled into a parking spot and stepped out of her car slowly. She felt a huge weight pressing down onto her chest. Everything was blurry and unclear.
(She hated driving, mostly because she was terrible at it and she never had money for gas.)

"Heather?" Veronica approached Mac slowly. "What the hell." She checked her up and down. "What happened to you?"

"Nothing. I just bumped my head getting ready for bed last night." She shrugged, stepping back.

"You're wearing the same outfit as yesterday and I'm sorry, but you look like a mess."

"I slept in the clothes from yesterday and I woke up late so I came to school like this." She squinted her eyes again.

"Tell me what really happened." Ronnie spoke with a demanded tone.

"I just told you what happened." Mac felt her heart beating faster and faster. Everything seemed so fuzzy. Her head pounded and before she knew it she had fallen onto the ground.
