" Hey Cas?"
"Yes, Dean" Cas answered looking over his shoulder.
"How about we stop by the market, huh?"
"Oh yes. Maybe I could get a... PB and... and... You know those sandwi-"
"PB&J?"
"Yes. PB&J" Castiel whispered to himself.
Dean laughed, his eyes barely on the road. Just on Cas. Dean placed his hand on Cas', unaware that he had done it.
"Dean?"
"Yes?"
"Why do humans hold hands? Love? Comfort?"
Dean pressed his lips together and barely pulled his hand away, still touching Cas'. He thought he should answer the question. He'd feel bad if he didn't. He cleared his throat.
"Well um, it's for comfort."
"I see." Cas said, interested. He placed his hand onto Dean's again, squeezing lightly. Dean blushed hard.
"Are you ok, Dean? You seem to be overheating or something."
"I'm fine Cas, really."
He cocked his head and squinted his eyes, confused. Cas was only learning to be a human. He took mental notes of things. Many were things Dean had done, like eating, drinking habits and his words. It was all new to Cas. Being a human was tough on him.
