> Karkat: The end of the school day.

After a few more class periods of being made fun of, I get my last period with Dirk. As I walked in, I noticed a few people were already there... Dirk, the substitute, Aradia, Feferi, and Jake.

I sit next to Aradia and Dirk, who both seem preoccupied with staring at Jake and whispering to each other. Nepeta walks in, and grins at me. After awkwardly waving back, I look at the substitute.

Signless was supposed to be here today, but him and Kankri went on a vacation or something over the weekend. They never told me when they'd be back.

A few more kids enter. I pay little attention to them. As the bell rings, Dirk looks over at me. "Hey Kar."

"CAN I HELP YOU?"

"Nah, I just wanted to tell you..." he smirks and looks down at my chest. "You look cute in that." The shirt that he gave me earlier. Wow.

I stare at him in disbelief. "NO I DON'T," I say immediately, without thinking. He doesn't say anything.

The sub speaks up. It's an old male human, who looks like a cheese critter. "Now guys!... You're supposed to do this packet on Her Imperious Condescension... tell me how, when, and where she was defeated. The rules are on the board!!" He sounds nervous, and his voice goes really high and wheezy at the beginning of his sentences.

Aradia goes to pick up the packets, and I look at Dirk, noticing that he already had his packet out, fully finished. I stare at him in shock. How is he so smart? As Aradia gives me a new one, Feferi squeals about something at the other end of the room. "No talking, guys! Guys, listen! This is an individual assignment!" the sub commanded again. Everyone continued to talk, despite what the nervous cheese critter guy said. "CAN YOU GIVE ME THE ANSWERS, DIRK?" I plead, trying to stay quiet. "No." "WHY NOT?!"

"Because. You have to find the answers yourself, Kikat." Kitkat was a new nickname. Props to him for making a new one, even though I hated it. "KITKAT? SERIOUSLY? JUST GIMME THE DAMN ANSWERS."

"I won't give them to you. I can help, but you have to do it mostly yourself."

   "DIRK."

   "Kar."

I cross my arms and scowl at him.

"That's not getting you anywhere."

"FINE," I whisper-yell to Dirk, openinng the packet. HIC's ugly face was on half of it, and the bottom half had a question about her. It feels like everything we do is still under her command. Especially learning about her, ugh.

How did Her Imperious Condescension effect human and troll society? The question said. Honestly, I didn't care, I just wanted to go home.

Eventually I just fell asleep on the desk, waiting for the after-school announcements to come on. My plan worked. "HELLOOOO, SKAIA HIGH SCHOOL! I hope you all have had a marvelous Monday, and don't forget, the prom is coming up soon!! Make sure you have a ticket, because they are NOT sold at the doors!!... Also, we have one bus change! Everyone riding 124 will now ride 071, which is a late load bus. That's all I have for today, goodbye!"

I hated that lady's voice, it made me want to rip my hair out of my head.
