I was grounded.
For the rest of my life.
But that didn't really make any difference.
You know, when I was a kid, I used to be really afraid of my mom grounding me. She only grounded me when I really pissed her off. And during the time my punishment lasted, she wouldn't talk to me. Sound quite stupid, but for me was sort of the end of the world. So I always did what she wanted me to do.
Nowadays, she not speaking to me was more than a blessing. And either way, I would do whatever I wanted. She couldn't stop me anymore.
Today I had to help Austin with his date. So the plan was to sneak out tonight and go back, unnoticed.
I went to school normally, only this time Marissa wasn't here. She was a the hospital, getting her nose fixed. So it was pretty much like heaven.
But Karma wasn't gonna let peace stay for that much, huh?
It started during lunch time.
I was peacefully having lunch with Austin, who was pretty nervous for his date, when suddenly someone took my lunch and threw it to the floor.
Now, you guys know of my reputation, and because of it no one dares to mess with me. Not even guys, so you can imagine my surprise when I turned to look at the culprit and saw none other than the famous Seth Summers aka Marissa's boyfriend.
His blond hair was messy, as if he had ran his hands over it many times, his blue eyes where filled with anger. Seth stood next to me, hands clenched in tight fists, knuckles white. His big quarter back body made him look intimating, but to me it was nothing.
Austin made a move to stand, but I gaze him a don't-worry-I-got-this look to calm him down.
"I'm on a good mood today, Summers, so I won't hit you right away. Instead I'll give you a chance to apologize and get out of my face" I said, standing up and adjusting my jacket.
"You send her to the hospital, Emma!!" he yelled at me "You could've killed her"
"Well, I wouldn't have beat the shit out of her if she wasn't an annoying pain in the ass." I answered "Besides you should tell her to mind her own business"
"Mind her own business? What are you talking about? You attacked her!" he spat.
"She told you that? Huh?" I chuckled "Why am I not surprised?"
I chuckled some more, and saw from the corner of my eye that a lot of people where watching us. The cafeteria filled with silence.
"Let me tell you something, Seth. Marissa Carter cares for no one but her self. And she won't stop until she destroys whatever stands in her way. Now I am not scared of her, so if she pisses me off I will put her in her place" I said calmly.
"You bitch!" he insulted me, pointing his finger at my face he said "You are selfish little whore! Marissa is a good person, and she would never hurt a fly! You on the other hand, are jealous of her, and because of it you torment her"
"Bitch? Whore? Really, Seth? I've heard worse" I laughed "If you want to fool yourself into believing Marissa is an angel, then so be it. But you're going to have to learn something. I won't ever be jealous of a lying whore-"
I was cut mid-sentence when Seth's fist collided with my cheek.
It wasn't hard enough to send me to the floor, but hard enough to leave a nasty bruise.
I felt the taste of salt and copper in my mouth, and turned my head back to him. That's when I pounced at him.
First, I tackled him to the floor. Then I proceeded to land hard punches across his face. He managed to punch me again, but I didn't give him any other opportunities as I started punching him with all the strength I had. And only when my knuckles started to bleed was when someone dragged me away from him.
