"Katherine!" Yelled Kat's mother. She groaned, as her light brown eyes flutter open. She stood up, and made her extremely messy bed. She finally finished, as she walked downstairs for breakfast. Today, she felt as if she were in a daze. The summer morning brought her to reality, as she realized today was her first day at her new school. She jumped up from the dining room chair she had been sitting at, as she sprinted to her room.

Katherine rummaged through her closet, in hopes to find a cute outfit. Her wardrobe was basically all jeans, and band-tees. She found a nice romper, and decided to put her brown hair in french braids. She thought she looked decent. She looked in the mirror and sighed. "Damn, where did my summer body go?" She muttered, sucking in her stomach. She sighed and put one of the braids on her shoulder, leaving the other one behind. She sighed once more, putting on the slightest bit of makeup. She ate some breakfast, and topped off her outfit with some white converse.

She rode her pastel yellow bike to school. Once she finally got there, she put the bike on the bike rack. Now, normally, all the new kids become popular. This definitely wouldn't happen in this situation, Kat just knew it. Deep in thought, Katherine bumped into a girl with long, wavy brown hair. The girl gave her a disgusted look. "Watch where you're going, fat ass." The girl snapped, causing Katherine to gasp, and look down. "S-sorry, I'm new h-here and-" Katherine stammered, as the girl bit her lip. "Riiiiight. Sorry we got off to a bad start, I'm Danielle." The girl smiled. Her teeth shined brightly. Kat nodded and walked away. Katherine's one goal this year was to not get mixed with the wrong crowed.

[ TIME SKIP TO LUNCH, KATHERINE'S POV ]

By lunchtime, nobody still had become my friend. Sure, I've met a few people, like this boy named Jack, but other than that, no friends. Then, I dreaded this time. Lunchtime. The time where gangs pair off, person by person. I went into the cafeteria to get my lunch, while getting it, Danielle flipped my tray. "Oopsies! Sorry kitten, guess you can't eat anymore." She frowned and walked away, swaying her hips. I sighed and tried picking it up. "Don't even bother," Someone said, I looked up. "She'll just do it again." A girl with short, red hair said. "O-oh." I nodded, standing up. I was just a bit shorter than her. "I'm Sophia, probably the most nicest person you'll meet here." She joked, I giggled in response. "I'm Kat. It's nice to meet you Sophia." I smiled, nodding. "Nice to meet ya too, Kat. So, wanna sit with me?" She asked, as her freckled cheeks turned up into a smile. Her smile was pretty. I hesitantly answered by saying yes.

"I swear to you, I've met Chris Pratt." Sophia giggled, and I did. "Oh, yeah. Suuuuure you did!" I rolled my eyes, as I stole a chip from her. "Also, I'm auditioning for the new 'IT' remake, bite me!" She laughed, taking the chip back. I gasped, as my heart exploded. "No way!" I said, folding my arms. "Yes way, now here, eat something." Sophia gave me the entire bag of chips.

Soon school was over, and it was great. It turns out Sophia and I have a lot in common. I came home, did my homework, and plopped down on my bed. I received a text from Sophia, since I gave her my number.
