Chpt 23 - My Ears Are Burning! (Mitch's POV)

                                    

                                          
Me and Jerome had been annihilating these squids all over the castle. They obviously had no idea that we were attacking. Either squids are extremely dumb, or I'm just extremely good at PvP because this is unnaturally easy.
                          
We make our way up a flight of stairs slaughtering more squid guards; we were making our way up to the top of the castle where we promised to meet up with Adam, Ty and Jason.
                          
Jerome suddenly stops, "There's a trapdoor." He points out.
                          
"Well go on then, open it." I respond.
                          
"No, wait a second... I think... I think the squid king is up here." He whispers.
                          
I push past Jerome, "Then let's go take him down!" I place my hand on the trapdoor but then something stops me, "Is that... Azalea?"
                          
"What do you mean?" Jerome asks.
                          
"I think I see Aza..." I answer, peering through the gaps in the trapdoor.
                          
"Maybe we should wait for the Team. This could be a trap." Jerome whispers.
                          
"You're right." I respond, "I think the squid king might have planned something, we're going to need all the help we can get."
                          
Just then we hear noises coming up the stairs, it sounded like Adam, Ty and Jason. Well isn't that mighty convenient?
                          
I see glinting butter armour in the darkness, and I instantly know its Adam in his Sky Armour.
                          
"Hey guys." He greets.
                          
"Hey doods." I respond, "Any sign of Ian and Quentin?"
                          
"Yeah." Adam answers, "We just saw the Sky Army approaching."
                          
"Is Jason in any condition for fighting?" I ask.
                          
"I'll be fine." Jason replies.
                          
"Okay, good. Because I think the squid king is up here, along with Aza." I explain.
                          
"The squid king?" Adam responds, "No doubt he'll be accompanied by Herobrine."
                          
I take a deep breath, "Okay... this might be it then."
                          
"Yep." Adam replies, "Okay. Jason, you, Ty and Jerome go and try take on Herobrine. I'll take on the squid king. Mitch... you can go save Aza then take down the squid guards."
                          
"You're gonna take on the squid king by yourself?" Ty asks Adam.
                          
"You sound worried, Ty." Adam responds.
                          
"But... but..."
                          
"Don't worry, I got this. It's only a squid! God!" Adam assures Ty.
                          
"Yeah umm... Adam?" Jason says.
                          
"What?" Adam asks.
                          
"I don't think I can take on Herobrine." Jason confesses.
                          
"Sure you can, man! Anyway, you only need to keep him occupied until Scarlet arrives, then I'm sure you can both take him down." Adam reassures Jason.
                          
Jason nods, but I can tell that it's only to please Adam. He looks petrified.
                          
Adam steps forward and places his hand on the trapdoor, "Ready?"
                          
There are a few hesitant nods and grunts in reply.
                          
I turn to Jerome, "Let's win the Hunger Games." He grins and clutches his Betty axe.
                          
Adam opens the trapdoor and sprints out, we follow shortly after him.
                          
"We've come to take you down!" Adam bellows, then he looks around him and begins to see the impossible task ahead of him. Surrounding us were former Sky Army Recruits, all clutching their squid swords and ready to attack.
