It had been two days since Sirius and Charlotte kissed and Charlotte had been avoiding Sirius ever since. She didn't want to talk to him right now, she needed to sort out her own feelings before she could deal with his.
Now it was saturday and it was time for the halloween party. Charlotte had been trying to keep her mind on the party and off Sirius, but it wasn't working. He was all she could think about and it was making her insane.
Sirius was a whole different story. He didn't understand why Charlotte was avoiding him, he thought they had something good starting. He just wanted to ask her what was wrong, what he had done. But it was hard when she didn't want to talk to him.
Sirius had been asking James a lot during the last two days what Charlotte had told him before the other joined them in the hospital wing. The only thing was that James didn't want to talk about it and he had told Sirius that a lot of times. One more thing Sirius didn't understand was the broken look James had started to look at him with. But he had a plan. Tonight at the party he would confront her.
The girls were getting ready for the party together talking about how amazing the party would be. Both Alice and Lily had asked Charlotte a number of times what had happened with Sirius and she just shrugged her shoulders and gave them a vague answer. So after the forth time they had stopped, they knew that when Charlotte was ready to tell them she would.
"I can't wait for tonight." Alice said smiling and the other two girls agreed. It was soon time to start getting ready. They had laid out their costumes on the bed, and all the make up and hair stuff was out ready to be used.
"Maybe we should start getting ready?" Lily said trying to speed this along. The day felt really slow and it felt like the time was going slower then ever.
"Yes, maybe we should." Charlotte said and the three girls laughed before leaving to start getting ready. They couldn't wait and it was better to have more time then have to stress to get ready in time.
When it was time for the party to start the girls were ready. They all had their costumes on and their makeup and hair done. After staring at themselves in the mirrors for a little while they started to head to the party. Charlotte couldn't help but to shiver in the cold castle. Her costume wasn't the most covering or warm one so she couldn't help but to freeze a little on their walk.
"It's cold." Charlotte complained holding her arms around herself, trying to stay warm.
"You only got yourself to blame. We told you to bring a jacket." Alice said and both her and Lily chuckled at their friend. Before they left they had had a big argument about brining jackets and Charlotte had tried to convince the others that they didn't need them. They didn't listen and now Charlotte was the only one without a jacket and the only one who was cold.
