James burst into tears and started sobbing. "D-Dad I love h-her! I-I really do!" He said as he cried. Harry sighed. "A-And you s-said you w-wished I-I wasn't your s-son!" He sobbed.
"James, I-I didn't mean that," Harry said.
"Y-Yes you d-did! I-It sounded like y-you did!" He cried. "James I was just angry," Harry said.
"E-Exactly! Y-You were angry!" James said.
"But James no matter how many times I say it, it would never be true! I'm so happy you're my son!" Harry said. James sobbed more.
"A-And everybody expects m-me to be like you b-but I-I can't! I c-can't be like y-you! I-I can't be l-like H-Harry Potter! Th-The b-boy who l-lived! The ch-chosen one!" He cried.
"James, I had those names because I lived and my parents didn't. I would never want you raised without a mum or dad." He said to his son.
"E-Everyone w-wants me to b-be like you but I-I can't! I-I can't do it!" He sobbed.
"James I don't expect that from you! I don't! Everyone wants you to be like me but I just want you to be happy!" He told him.
His crying slowed, but he was still stuttering and lightly crying. "You always p-protected the people y-you love. Like mum, and uncle Ron and aunt H-Hermione. N-Now I h-have someone who I love. Sophie. I-I love her. She makes me feel good about myself. I-I found someone who likes me for me, and not m-my last name." He said.
"Well, Malfoy and I were just scared," Harry said.
"About what?" James sniffed.
Harry paused. "He and I don't have a great past," Harry said.
"But Sophie makes me happy. I love her. She means a lot to me. But you two take it all away. Why would you take the best part of my life away from me?" He asked. Harry looked at his son.
"I don't know, " he said. James sniffed.
"Go to sleep. You can write back in the morning." He kissed James' head and left his son in his room.
The next morning past and Sophie was sitting on her windowsill. Frost was on the glass as she looked out of it with the side of her face pressed against the glass.
Astoria had already gone to her work that morning. Her father came into the room, his face stony. She noticed he was wearing his healer clothing. "Leaving?" She asked him harshly.
"While I'm gone there will be no talking to Potter, no thinking about Potter, noting. Understood?" He asked coldly.
"No." She replied. She stood up, her cheeks had their color drained, as they were always pink.
"Young lady, do not use that tone with me!" He noticed she stood up after he spoke. "Sit down!" He told her sternly.
"No." She repeated. He scowled. The owl came back in with the letter in its beak. Sophie reached for it, but Draco grabbed it first. He snatched the letter and read it, his face getting angrier.
"That's mine!" She hissed. He looked down at her and scowled.
"Not anymore!"
"Meaning?" She said stubbornly.
"This is from Potter! What did I say? No interaction!" He said holding the letter.
"I don't care what you have to say!" She yelled. He grabbed out his wand and the letter turned to ash. "Dad!" She shouted.
"You are my child Sophia Hyperion! You will listen to what I have to say! Understand?" She scowled.
"No!" She shouted. He grabbed her by the wrist and her eyes grew with fear.
