Jade's P.OV.
Blake and Will were going to pick me up in twenty minutes, and I hadn't even changed yet. I opened my closet and looked at my clothes. After spending too much time just looking, I simply grabbed a pair of black shorts and an oversized white t-shirt. I put my hair up in a ponytail, and threw on some mascara.
With about three minutes to spare, I walked downstairs and grabbed an apple from the fridge. Taking a bite, I felt my phone buzzing in my back pocket. I fished it out, and saw a text from Will.
We're outside.
I didn't bother replying, I just walked to the hall and threw on a pair of black Converse and walked outside. Locking the door behind me, I walked down the stairs and found the blue Golf quickly.
"Hello boys," I said, sliding into the backseat. Startled, I noticed that I was not alone back there. "And you."
Next to me sat a beautiful girl with short, blonde hair. She was wearing a tight fitted black dress that came to an end in the middle of her thigh, accompanied by a red leather jacket.
"Yeah," Will said, and put the car in drive. "That would be Chase, my date."
"Erm, nice to meet you Chase," I said, smiling. "I'm Jade."
"Wow, you're really pretty," she suddenly said, making me a little uncomfortable. "Nice to meet you." It was obvious that her voice was strained, but I didn't comment on it. Instead, I tuned everything out and did my best to mentally prepare myself for tonight. I was going to spend the evening with people I barely knew and I sure as hell didn't want to be there.
The shit you do for friends.
We made it to Kendall's place in fifteen minutes, but we had to park way down the street as there were cars everywhere. The four of us got out of the Golf, and started walking towards the party. Once we made it there, my eyes rested on a brick house with a reasonably sized lawn in front of it. There were the signature red plastic cups scattered across it, and a handful of people standing outside talking. Some looked at us as we walked up, but most couldn't care less.
Inside, the rooms were filled with people who were dancing and drinking and whatnot. I took a deep breath, and hooked my arm with Blake. Together, we walked towards the kitchen area to get a drink. Will and Chase had left us to go dancing.
"I'm proud if you for going out," Blake said, smiling.
"Yeah yeah," I said, and grabbed a water bottle from the refrigerator. "I'm amazing."
"You really are," he mumbled, and I barely heard him because of the loud music that was playing. I took a sip from the water bottle, but immediately spat it out. "What the fuck are you doing?"
"That was not water," I said, laughing.
"Hey!" a male voice yelled from across the kitchen. "That was mine!"
Kendall materialized from nowhere, and snatched the bottle from my hand. He was wearing ripped, black jeans and a black t-shirt. Kendall took a sip, and put the bottle down on the counter.
"My bad," I said, smiling. "I thought it was water."
"This, my beautiful friend," he said, holding the bottle up. "Is vodka. I doubt a little girl like you could handle drinking this stuff."
I felt flustered for a second because of his compliment, but then the rest of his comment sank in. Blake made a face that could be translated into 'here we go'. I plastered on a fake smile, and grabbed the bottle from off the countertop. Without breaking eye contact with Kendall, I opened the bottle and started chugging it. I felt the oily, sweet texture run down my tongue and the familiar burn at the back of my mouth.
