"Dude you did this last time too, and all the other times you had a chance to talk to her you chickened out." Once again I heard someone say.
"I know I know. I get nervous she's just so beautiful."
"God, woman up Hiro it's not that big of a deal."
"I don't want to mess anything up."
"What do you mean? All you have to say is hi to start off a conversation. Come on little bro it's not that hard."
Not being able to stop myself from hearing their loud whispering I turned my head towards the group of people who had leaned in closer to each other over the table. They all continued to talk to Hiro who looked like he was having a hard time trying to fight off everyone's comments. I looked at them curiously because their whole group seemed very interesting to me and I couldn't help but laugh to myself.
When I heard the bell to the door open again I looked at the door, which caused my smile to drop instantly.
You have got to be kidding me .
Lifting up my coffee cup to my face, I prayed that the person who walked in wouldn't see me.
"Oh hey there sweetheart I almost didn't see you there." A voice came and I cringed.
Slowly putting my cup down I looked at the boy in front of me and frowned.
"Oh, hi Drew. What are you doing here?" I said as he took a seat in front of me.
"I just came to see if my girlfriend was at her regular hang out spot, not that I know why anyone would want to hang out at a place like this." Drew said making me slightly irritated.
"Drew." I sighed closing my eyes and rubbed my temple.
"First don't ever disrespect someones business like that. If you don't like it that much don't come here cause I'm sure your not welcome either. Second we are not dating, your not my boyfriend and I'm not your girlfriend. Okay?"
Placing my head in my hand I bit into my donut in annoyance. I just wanted to eat my food in silence and chat with aunt Cass. The last person I want to see is Drew, my EX boyfriend. He was a pretty good looking guy with brown hair and light gray eyes. He was tall athletic and averagely smart. But he was an asshole and he liked to flirt with anyone he found attractive. We weren't together for long but when we were he had cheated on me with a girl from another school. When I found out and immediately broke up with him, he wasn't happy about it. So whenever he sees me he would act like the brake up didn't happen and try to get back together with me. Not only that but he would follow me, and when he doesn't get his way he tries to get aggressive.
"Don't say that, you know I love you." He said making me scoff.
"Sure you do Drew. Just like you love every girl in the whole city. Why don't you go find someone who actually cares and leave me alone." I said.
"Ugh your still on that? Just get over it already." Drew said and I rolled my eyes.
"That's the thing, you think I'm soooo upset because of what you did. I could care less about that, what's annoying me is that you won't leave me alone. I'm sure there is someone else who would want a guy like you but honey it's not me."
I looked to my left to see Hiro and his friends staring at our table which made me embarrassed because they were hearing such a stupid argument, and I didn't want them to get the wrong idea about me. Quickly looking away from the raven haired boy, I saw aunt Cass walk out of the kitchen. I grabbed my empty plate and cup to clean up and tell her that I was leaving for today, but as I was about to walk away Drew roughly grabbed my wrist.
"I'm the best thing that will ever happen to you, so you better think clearly before walk away from me."
"You wish. Let go of me Drew, and stop following me or I swear I'll go to the police for harassment." I say sternly before yanking my arm away and walking towards aunt Cass.
"Hey (y/n) are you okay? You look pretty upset did that boy do something to you?" She asked concerned and I shook my head.
"No, I'm okay aunt Cass thank you. But I think I'm going to leave for today. Maybe we can chat some other time? "
She smiled before nodding. "Of course hon."
Smiling and thanking her I quickly walked out of the cafe and toward my house. Why did Drew have to come at such bad timing. I hope Hiro and his friends didn't hear that much of the conversation.
Sighing I continued to walk when I heard someone calling my name. I turned around to the voice to see the younger Hamada brother jogging in my direction.
"Hi." He said and I gave him a confused look.
"Hi?"
"I know this is weird but I wanted to ask you if you were okay. I heard your conversation with that guy and, oh not that I was eavesdropping but you guys weren't that quiet and uh, I'm sorry I sound like an idiot. But are you okay?" Hiro asked nervously making me crack a smile.
"Yea I'm okay. Thanks Hiro."
Hiro looked at me with wide eyes before saying, "You know my name?"
"Well yeah, your aunt talks about you and Tadashi all the time." I say with a laugh.
"Oh, well I hope it's nothing embarrassing. But she talks about you too, all good things of course." He chuckled.
"Thats good to know."
"So what made you come out to talk to me?" I asked genuinely wanting to know.
"Oh, um I just wanted to say that the guy back in the cafe seemed like a total ass. And for such a nice and amazing girl like you, you deserve someone way better than that guy who can't see that the most beautiful girl ever is standing right in front of him. If I were him I would've never let you go for any reason." Hiro stated confidently which in all honesty left me shocked.
"Wow I don't know if that was you being amazingly nice and trying to cheer me up, or you confessing to me." I said, my cheeks feeling slightly hot.
"What would you say if it was a confession?" Hiro asked with a nervous smile.
Smiling at him, I stepped closer before pulling out my phone and handing it to him. "I'd say you owe me a date first Hamada."
His eyes immediately lit up. "Really?"
"Yeah now put your number in knucklehead." I laughed, as he quickly nodded and added his number.
Shooting him a quick text, he made sure he got it before smiling and putting his phone away.
"Well I'm going to get going but I'll see you soon?" I asked.
"You sure will."
I nodded at Hiro then sent a smile his way one more time, before walking off in my own direction. When I looked back, I saw Hiro happily fist bumping the air and heading back to the lucky cat cafe.
Hiro's POV
When I walked back into the cafe I saw that, that Drew guy was gone making me relieved. My friends were still sitting at the table, and when they heard the bell to the door ring they all turned my way.
"Oh my god Hiro! How did it go?" Honey Lemon asked excitedly as she gave me a hug.
"Yeah dude, did you talk to her?" Fred asked with a smirk.
"Yes, I talked to her."
Gogo rolled her eyes and smiled. "Finally."
"So little bro what did she say?" Tadashi asked.
"Well let's just say, I owe her a date." I said and everyone smiled, giving me a hug.
"Yes! After months of gawking at her from a distance and listening to aunt Cass's stories about her you finally did it!" Wasabi laughed making me frown.
"Hey I was not gawking."
Everyone looked at me before saying in unison. "Yes you were!"
