**•** Blaine's POV **•**

It had been a week since the tux shopping. Blaine was so proud of himself that he had actually helped them get farther on this endless wedding preparation! Kurt ended up deciding on a fitted white tux, with white shoes, a black shirt, and a crimson red bow tie. Blaine followed suit except he decided on a dark blue bow tie with matching suspenders. Crimson and Navy were their final decisions on the main wedding colors (they represented McKinley and Dalton).

Now it was September and the leaves were changing colors from green to yellows, oranges, and reds. By October the trees would almost all be brown skeletons with a few brittle leaves clinging for the last few days of their lives.

Burt and Carol had left that Wednesday and were on their way to Caramel to see Mr. Schue, Emma, and Daniel Finn. Daniel, the Schuester's first child's middle name was in Finn Hudson's honor.

Blaine smiled as he remembered when they came to visit. Daniel was not quite 18 months old, already growing a head of red waves. Blaine had held him after dinner, swooping him through the living room, making airplane sound effects, and then plopping him on the couch. Daniel had laughed with delight and clapped his hands for more. They did this over and over for nearly half an hour even though Blaine's arms protested halfway through.

Emma had watched like an eagle the whole time, always making sure her son was okay. She made sure he had no scratches or scuffs, that all drool was wiped, and his shirt straight. Her OCD had toned down due to medication, but Daniel was still the cleanest, neatest baby around. Emma and Will were proving to be great parents.

Kurt and Will had been in an intense conversation all evening so Blaine had delighted himself in the warm, joyful child that was Daniel. By 8 p.m. he was asleep in Blaine's strong arms; his head turned into Blaine's sweater vest, breathing small, peaceful breaths.

"Please prepare to land in the Port Columbus International Airport in 5 minutes."

Blaine sat up and looked out the window at the small lights below him. His thoughts had been so happy, but now he had to rent a car and drive to Lima. His mom had called that week and said Dad still said no and refused to talk about Blaine, period. This angered Blaine so he had decided to catch a flight to Ohio as soon as he could. He was alone and would miss Kurt a lot. He wanted Kurt to come along; however, he had refused saying Blaine needed to solve this family matter by himself.

He would be staying at Artie's house with Mrs. Abrams while he was in Ohio. He had called her last minute and was relieved to hear her sound so thrilled to have him over.

Here we go! He said to himself as the wheels of the plane touched the runway.

Knock-knock-knock!

Blaine rapped his knuckles on the door of his parent's house. There he was, standing there on the steps of his house. Mom or even Dad could answer. But no one did. Blaine took a deep breath before doing it again, harder.

Knock-knock-knockknock!!!

Then footsteps came from inside, growing louder each second. He stepped down to the bottom step and braced himself to face whoever came to the door.

There was a click, the gold knob turned, slowly the door opened. There stood Deb Anderson, her dark brown curls fell mid-shoulder with streaks of white and gray at the temples. She smiled at him both out of surprise and excitement. Her deep hazel eyes (of which Blaine had inherited) danced at the sight of her son. "Blaine? What a surprise!? I didn't know you were coming!" she ran out onto the steps and hugged him close.
