That night for dinner, Lena just ordered pizzas. Callie was semi nice, but I was so hurt by what she did.

At the table, I eyed Brandon. Every time he looked at me, I glared. Apparently Callie saw me, because that night when we were getting ready for bed, she was angry.
"He isn't the problem Taylor!" She said through gritted teeth. "You better not do that EVER do that again, or you will be grounded for two weeks!"
I was scared and it showed. I had tears streaming down my cheeks, and I was backed up on my bed.

She was beginning to talk a little bit louder. She was telling me how I needed to be nice and that she wasn't the only one who was going to get us kicked out.
She has been like this once before. It was when we stayed with the Olmsted family. They had an older son named Liam. It was when I was 10, and Callie was 14. He would hit her and scream at her when the parents were gone. But whenever I tried to stop him, she would tell me to stay out of it. She said that she loved him.... But how could she love someone who caused her so much harm? But she still said that he was good.
She started to love him.... Love him more than a brother. He was 18, and would drive her places. He took her to school every morning, but took her an hour early. It was suspicious at first, but then our foster parents found out that they would go "make out" in the car.
The NEXT morning they called our social workers. They came right away. So since Callie had that on our record, if they found out about Brandon, she could be sent to juvie.
I heard the door open and saw Mariana walk in.
"What's going on?" She demanded.
"Nothing Mariana, were fine." Callie snapped.
"Oh, well you need to tell me why your screaming at Taylor, or you can tell moms." She said, crossing her arms.
"Goodnight Mariana." Callie said, pushing the door shut.
That's when I saw my opportunity.
"I-I'm sorry Callie. I won't do it again." I sniffed. "Your the best sister in the world, and I love you."
She was one to hold a grudge, but never to me. She softly smiled and came onto my bed. Her arms came over me and pulled me into her. I laid my head on her chest and felt her heart beat. We stayed like that for a while, but I had a question.
"Callie?" I asked. "Do you think they will adopt us?"
"I don't think so..... They already have too many kids." My face fell. I got up and went to my bed and silently started to cry.
"Goodnight." I heard Callie whisper.
"Goodnight..... I love you." I tried so hard to sound normal, but I could even tell that I was upset.

The next morning when I woke up, Callie wasn't in her bed. I went into Brandon's room, and Mariana's room and she wasn't there. I also checked all the bathroom and had no luck.
I thought she was just downstairs, but when I went down..... I only saw Stef and Lena.
"Where-where's Callie?" I asked.
They both looked confused.
"We haven't seen her today..... We just thought she was asleep still." Lena answered softly.
"Uh oh." I said as ran back up to our room. I looked in the closet and there was nothing there. Her backpack was gone too.
"She ran away!" I screamed in complete terror.
