"Hey, Schatz," Michelle greeted her boyfriend of 5 years as she walked into their shared apartment.
Shrugging her shoulders when she didn't hear a reply, she walked into the living room, where she saw him sitting on the couch, staring at his laptop.
"What are you doing?" She questioned, giggling as Julian looked up at her in shock.
"Hey," He stuttered, quickly closing his laptop and starting to nervously scratch the back of his neck.
"You didn't answer my question," She replied, raising her eyebrows in confusion because she could clearly see the nervousness taking over him.
"Oh, I was just...," He started, thinking about it for a moment, "...ordering some new shoes."
"Really?" His girlfriend asked, taking a few steps forward to take a look, but he quickly placed the laptop behind him, "What kind of shoes?"
"You're asking a lot of questions today," The footballer commented with a roll of his eyes before he abruptly stood up, taking the laptop with him as he walked up the stairs.
"Strange guy," Michelle said, shrugging her shoulders again after she sat down on the couch.
"Maybe he is hiding something from me," She quietly thought to herself, her heart slightly speeding up, while hundreds of possibilities ran through her mind.
After waiting for a bit, she heard the shower being turned on and -as curious as she was- decided to try to find out what was going on with her boyfriend.
She quietly walked up the stars to their bedroom and started to look around for his laptop, but somehow, she couldn't find it.
Rummaging through his side of the closet, she suddenly found a small box.
The young woman sat down on the bed, debating whether she should open it or just leave it be; in the end she decided to search for the laptop first.
When she lifted his pillow up, she finally found it and opened it to see that he hadn't closed the page.
Proposing in Paris
She narrowed her eyebrows for a moment, completely confused what this was supposed to mean before her eyes wandered back to the small box.
Slowly picking it up again, she noticed that she had started to shiver slightly.
"Stay calm, Michelle," She told herself as she was about to open it, but right in this moment Julian came into the room, his arms crossed in front of his chest after he took the box from her.
"What is this?" She questioned, looking directly into his breathtaking eyes, "What does it mean?"
"Well," The German started, laughing quietly, while he threw the box into the air before catching it again, "It seems like you are back with your thousand of questions."
Michelle rolled her eyes at his statement, but nevertheless joined in on his laughter.
"You're an idiot," She mumbled, playfully hitting the back of his head, but that only made him chuckle more.
"You're ready to find out what's inside of this box?" He asked after he had calmed down again.
His girlfriends eyes lit up as he felt him taking her hand after she had nodded.
The footballer softly guided her onto the balcony, where the two of them had the perfect view of the Eiffel Tower.
"I originally planned to do this in a different way," He explained, lovingly placing a kiss on her cheek, "but since you're so curious, I'm going to do here and now."
His girlfriend's eyes went wide as he got down onto one knee, holding her hand in his.
"Michelle," He started, while she already felt tears forming in her eyes, "I love you so, so much and I could never imagine a life without you. The two of us have already gone through so much together and I have to admit that I sometimes thought about giving up, but you always pulled me back onto my feet. I can never thank you enough for that, but you should know that I admire and love you even more with each day that passes by. I truly want to spend the rest of my life with you and since you already asked so many questions today, I think it's my turn now to ask the most important one; Michelle Y/L/N will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?"
After finishing his short speech, Julian finally opened the small box, revealing a beautiful ring with a diamond that was shining in the sunlight.
"Yes," Michelle breathed out, the tears now rolling down her cheeks, "I will, Julian."
Smiling brightly, he slid the ring onto her finger before basically jumping up and wrapping his arms around her.
"I love you so much," She exclaimed, leaning forward to place her lips on top of his.
"Forever," Julian whispered into her ear after turning around, so that they both were facing the Eiffel Tower now.
"Future Mrs. Draxler," He added, while leaning down to softly kiss her again.
