Hunter drove me back to my dorm shortly after the "debrief". I needed some space to think through everything I had learned about the guys, and they needed to got back to their lives on campus. Braedon had some fraternity event he had to make an appearance at, Tyler had a student council meeting, Jax and band practice, and the twins had football and baseball practice.
In my dorm, I changed into sweatpants and one of the boys' shirts that had appeared in my bag. I he no idea whose it was, but it smelled like their house. I picked my room up some, getting laundry ready and putting away clean clothes. I was trying not to dwell too much on the Brady situation and keeping busy was the best way I knew how.
Eventually I ran out of things to do and ended up sitting on the couch watching cooking shows. I caught myself looking at the door every few minutes and checking my phone for texts or calls. After a while of nothing happening, I decided to get dressed and go down to the student commons for some food. I threw on a pair of my ripped jeans and a plain purple v-neck I found at the bottom of my closet and slipped on a black pair of flip flops. I grabbed my wallet and phone on my way out the door.
Once I got to the student center, I grabbed some Chick-fil-a and found a table perfect for people watching. I sat and ate and just watched people for about an hour before I felt someone's eyes on me. About the same time my phone went off with several texts from the guys. I took out my phone to respond to them.
Flash: Whatcha doin?
Cole: I really need a shower. Want to hang after?
Braedon: Save me?
Jax: I think I busted an eardrum, kiss it better?
Tyler: How are you doing flower?
I smiled at their cuteness and opened Hunters first to respond to it. The hairs on my neck stood up and I felt eyes on me again. I looked up from my phone and glanced around the room trying to find the source of my discomfort. Not seeing anyone looking my way, I focused back on my phone and finished my response to Hunter.
Tasha: Just sitting in the Student Center. What about you?
I sent the text out and opened Cole's next. The air shifted around me and I shivered because of the uncomfortable feeling that had come back.
"Well look who we have here." My heart dropped when I heard Brady's voice behind me. He moved around the table to sit in front of me and leaned back in his chair in a confident power move.
"Hi." I wasn't at the pool, and I wasn't prepared for this, so I was very nervous. I was trying not to hide behind my hair and let at least some of the girl he saw to come out. He just sat there looking at me again and it made me more uncomfortable than at the pool. I went back to looking at my phone again so I didn't have to look at him and sent Cole a text back.
Tasha: Come meet me at the Student Center when your done :)
I glanced back up to check on Brady to find him smirking at me.
"Texting your boyfriend." My naturally shy personality caused me to blush but I tried to fire sassy back.
"I told you I don't have one." I cocked my head to the side a little to seem more confident. I faked nonchalance and opened up my phone to shoot a text to Braedon.
Tasha: Brady is here at the Student Center with me. What should I do?
Having reached out to to my most protective boy, my pulse calmed down a bit and I felt more at ease. Brady's gaze, however, was still boring into me and I wasn't sure what exactly he wanted from me. I grabbed a lock of my hair and twirled it between my fingers.
"What are you doing here anyway?" He looked at me for a few more seconds before answering?
"What, I can't talk to my girl? he smirked at me and had a dark look in his eye. I gulped and then my mouth went dry. I had no one idea what to say to that. His girl?
"I'm no ones girl." I cut my eyes over to him as I felt a hand land on my shoulder.
"He bothering you Bunny? 'Sup man." he reached over and slapped hands with Brady.
"You know my girl?" Brady crossed his arms and his face was neutral again which looked scarier than the dark look he got when looking at me.
"Met her a few weeks ago. You?" Braedon pulled out the chair next to mine and sat down, matching Brady's posture, but with his arm over the back of my chair, lending me some support. I kept silent as the boys had their standoff as I didn't want to get caught in the crossfire.
"Caught my eye at the pool this weekend." He shot another smirk in my direction and my skin crawled. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Cole heading towards us.
"It's been nice guys, but I have plans so I'll see you later." I took Cole coming in as an exucse to pack my bag and leave the two hotheads to their pissing contest. I tried not to race over to Cole and gave him a quick hug to not piss anyone off.
"Let's get out of here." He gave me a quizzical look, but threw his arm around my shoulder.
"Whatever you say babe." I looked back over my shoulder to see Brady and Braedon still at the table talking.
A/N: So, I lied. This is super late. I've given up on trying to keep with a schedule for now, so you will get updates as soon as I am done with a section. Classes started today so I'm trying to write a bunch before I get caught up in classwork.
I like hearing from you guys, so keep voting and commenting.Enjoy!
