Holy crap I love that picture ^^^ also, In the last chapter you and Daryl got touchy feely for the first time in the book but it's not the first time you've done that. Remember you've known each other since you were kids so that's a normal thing for you guys. But y'know Daryl's a tough sk8er dude and doesn't like being seen getting intimate with you, so yea lol
Oh yea and also you guys haven't had your first kiss yet. Stfu and read thanks b y e.

The truck ride was somewhat quiet, as soon as you left the group started cooking up ideas and plans. You figured once you got there it would be better, since you could scope the area out.

You and Daryl were sitting up against one of the walls of the truck with T-Dog while Glenn drove in the front with Rick.

When the truck finally pulled up to a quiet, hidden spot, Daryl spoke up to T-Dog.

"He'd better be ok." He said. "It's my only word on the matter."

"I told you, the geeks can't get at him." He assured. "The only thing that's gonna get through that door is us."

Daryl wiped some sweat from his face and you rested your head on his shoulder. The truck came to a stop and Glenn pulled the keys.

"We walk from here." He said. You have Daryl's shoulder a quick and discrete kiss before getting up and out the truck, heading into the city.

You were walking under a bridge when Rick spoke up.

"Merle first, or guns?" He asked.

"Merle! We ain't even havin' this conversation!" Daryl said.

"We are," Rick said empathetically. He turned to Glenn. "You know the geography, it's your call."

"Merle's closest. The guns would mean doubling back. Merle first." He panted.

Once you reached the department store, you all quietly filtered inside, scoping around the room. A lone walker was wobbling around, so Daryl quickly shot it down.

You made your way to the roof, cutting the chains keeping the door closed and kicked it open, running into the open.

"Merle!" Daryl repeatedly called his brother's name, you doing the same. You both ran over to where he was cuffed, the three others walking over behind you.

You stopped in your tracks and gazed at the sight in front of you. The handcuffs were there, but Merle wasn't. All that was left were blood stains and a severed hand.

You raised your hand to cover your mouth and tears began rolling down your cheeks. Daryl was pacing around, yelling out, 'no! no!'

He took a moment to compose himself and looked over at you. At this point you were sobbing into your shirt. Your knees were weak. You just wanted to curl up into a ball and stay there forever. He dropped his crossbow and quickly came over to you, throwing his arms around your shoulders in a hug. It almost knocked you over, but you managed to weakly wrap your arms around his back, crying into his shirt.

You stayed like that for a long moment, the only sound was Daryl's hard breathing, your quiet sobs, and the wind blowing. He kissed the top of your head and turned away, walking to his crossbow. He picked it up and quickly aimed it at T-Dog's head. Just as fast as he did, Rick pulled his gun and put it to Daryl's head, cocking it. They stood like that in silence for a moment before Rick spoke.

"I won't hesitate," he said, "I don't care if every walker in the city hears it."

Daryl obliged and lowered the bow, squinting at T-Dog.

"You got a do-rag or somethin'?" He asked after he calmed down. T-Dog pulled a bandana from his pocket and handed it to Daryl, who went to wrap the lone hand in it.

"I guess the saw blade was too dull for the handcuffs." Daryl stated, examining the hand. You stepped closer to him and looked down at the hand yourself.

"Ain't that a bitch.." You murmured. Daryl looked up at you and stood up, putting the hand in Glenn's backpack. He turned back to you and quickly wiped your last tear with his thumb, then picked his crossbow back up and began following a blood trail he found.

You made your way down another staircase, pulling your gun off your back and watching for walkers. Every once and a while you'd both call out for Merle. You continued following the blood trail and other signs as to where he went and wound up finding a broken window. After some light arguments, Daryl and Rick came to a conclusion. You'd get the bag of guns, then keep searching for the lost Dixon.

You found an office in the building and started planing in there. Glenn suggested he go alone to get the bag, since he was quick on his feet, but he was shut down.

You all concluded that Glenn and Daryl would stay in the alley where Glenn and Rick first met, T-Dog and Rick would wait in another alley two blocks away, and you'd be up on a low roof, sniping walkers.

It seemed easy enough, you watched Glenn make his way down the street while you took out any walkers in his path. You suddenly heard a yell from the alley where Daryl was waiting. You pushed the gun back onto your back and jumped across the roof to look down into the alley.

There you say Daryl, pointing his crossbow into a young boy's face. He was shouting, 'ayudame' over and over. You jumped onto the fire escape ladder and slid your way down as quickly as possible. Once you reached the bottom, Daryl had already hit the boy and knocked him to the ground, covering his mouth to muffle his screaming.

You were about to speak when suddenly, two men came running into the alley. One kicked Daryl in the side, throwing him onto the ground a few feet away, while the other ran up to you with a pipe in his hand.

"Sorry about this, princess." He said with a think Spanish accent before swinging the pipe up to hit you in the face. You stumbled back as pain seared through you, and you gasped in shock. The man kicked out your knees, causing you to fall to your knees, then kicked your back. You landed with a thud on the hard surface below you and felt your vision fading. A ringing was sent through your ears and you rolled around, groaning.

Daryl was suddenly at your side, blood dripping from somewhere on his face. You couldn't tell where, though, because the tears mixed with your own blood were blurring your vision.

"Y/n! Hey! Are you--" He snapped his head in the direction of Glenn's yelping and shot his crossbow. You could only hear the faint sound of yelling as your conscious slowly slipped from you. Your vision began fading and you passed out as you felt someone pick you up.
