The night was alive, no one could deny the high spirits that lightened the air. The football pitch was freshly trimmed just for tonight's game and the stadium headlights were switched on. Everyone in the stands had dressed in their warmest clothes and huddled together with their friends and family as white puffs of air blew out in front of them.

Lexi stood beside her brother at the bottom of the stands, snuggling into Toby's side to try and keep warm. As the team ran out onto the pitch her eyes caught Cheryl's as she beckoned her over.

"Which one's Cole?" Toby asked as she removed herself from his side to join her fellow cheerleaders.

"The one with pink lipstick on his helmet!" She yelled over her shoulder, jogging to get into her position beside Ginger. Toby laughed from behind her before moving to take a seat on the stands beside some other guy he knew from college.

The River Vixens looked towards Cheryl as she took the lead and began the cheer as the rest followed and carried out the well rehearsed routine. Afterwards the people in the crowd cheered and the game began.

Lexi jumped over the seats until she arrived in front of Betty and Kevin with a large grin plastered in her face as she sat down in between them. Kevin frowned and moved over after she basically sat down on one of his knees whereas Betty smiled up at her friend. "You did great, Lex."

"Thanks babe." Lexi winked before laughing at the slight blush that crawled up Betty's neck.

"Wow, you're in a good mood. Normally, you are all glum and want to brutally murder someone." Kevin rolled his eyes before taking a large sip of his sippy straw in order to prevent himself from saying anything else.

"I have a lot to be thankful for," Lexi smirked, making sure not to look towards the redhead shouting out her own personal cheers for her twin brother.

Kevin scoffed in response causing her to snap her head towards him in a playful manner, "Lighten up, Kevin. Don't hate me too much."

After the football match, Lexi found Cole sitting on the benches with an injured shoulder. The coach was pretty certain it was dislocated but since he was too occupied with the game, he made Cole sit it out for a simple shoulder ache. It wasn't like Cole wasn't coping too well with the pain, he was gloating at the fact girls kept coming up to him to ask if he was okay.

"Shoo," Lexi snapped and the girls went running like lion cubs that had wondered too close to a den of wolves. She smiled after they'd left, both at the glum look on Cole's face and the fact she hadn't lost her touch. She was, after all, a co-head bitch of the school — Cheryl Blossom taking the role of the other one.

Cole groaned as he suddenly remembered the pain in his shoulder, "Where's Toby?"

"Went to go see a drive in movie with some chick," Lexi shrugged.

Cole's eyes went wide, "He just left me? His own brother!"

Lexi groaned and rolled her eyes, "Hey! The man hasn't got laid in what, over a year? Let him have some fun."

          "I almost died!"

          "Oh, boo hoo."

          "I hate you."

Lexi gasped in fake hurt, even going as far as to put a hand over her wounded heart. "That's an awful thing to say to your sister."

Cole smirked, "Then it's a good thing I only have two brothers."

The brunette's eyes turned to slits as she reached over and hit his injured shoulder causing him to yell out in pain and fall backwards on the bench trying to get away from her. "Hale number three!" Coach Clayton called as he crossed the field, just having missed the scene where Cole fell through the bleachers. "Where's Hale number two?"

"Who, Cole? I don't know I haven't seen him," she grinned mischievously and played innocent as if she hadn't been the one to  push him.

Coach rolled his eyes and started jogging towards the school carpark but not before calling over to her, "Tell him I can't drive him to the hospital because my wife made lasagna!"

Lexi gave a mocked salute to his retreating figure. She always did like Chuck's dad more than she liked him — well, not actually but she certainly did after the breakup. Turning around back to where Cole was a concealed heap on the ground, she winced at his heavy glare. "Yeah, about that.... I can't drive you either."

"What? What do you mean you can't drive me to the hospital?!?" He all but screamed at his sister.

"I got plans," Lexi deadpanned. Don't worry though, I'm sure Jason or someone from the team can drive you."

Cole looked up at her like she had grew an extra head, he was so in shock that both his siblings were emotionless assholes incapable of empathy that he didn't even attempt to stand up yet from his fallen position. As soon as he opened his mouth to reply, Lexi had already beaten him to it, "Love you! Got to go, bye! Say hi to Will for me!"

And with his mouth hanging open he watched his sister sprint past him towards the car park without a seconds hesitation. He really hated her.

Lexi felt a hand wrap around hers as she stepped into the dully lit parking lot. "Hey Lex," the redhead smiled softly.

There was no one else in the parking lot besides them since most of the crowd disappeared for an after party at Reggie's and the rest made for their homes to get in their warm beds. The brunette felt herself relax under her touch and brought her in for a slow but enjoyable kiss. When she pulled back, she was grinning ear to ear, "Hey Cherry."

"I got a free house tonight and I was wondering if you'd like to have a movie night? But you know, it's fine if you don't — in fact, you probably wanna go—" Lexi cut her off by placing her hand over Cheryl's lips. The redhead glared at her and slapped her arm away while muttering, "You ruined my lipstick."

"And if you don't stop talking I'll ruin your hair to just to stop you rambling," Lexi threw back before softening her voice, "I'd love to — the movie night, not ruin your hair though I can think of a few ways I could do that..."

Cheryl rolled her eyes, "Shut up."

"Let's begin with that then," Lexi said as she kissed her again and pushed her against the nearest car.
