Rolling out of bed early Monday morning, Ari makes her way to her bathroom, throws her hair up into its customary ponytail, brushes her teeth, then walks into her bedroom and puts on her scrubs. On her way to work she stop at the local coffee shop, grabs herself a cup of coffee and and bagel then drives to the hospital. Once there she parks in the staff only area and walk into the locker room to put away her things and get ready for a busy day.
Just as she steps out out of the nurses lounge Ari sees Harry and Louis walking in her direction."Morning Ari." Harry smiles.
"Morning, Dr. Styles, Dr. Tomlinson." Ari replies as she falls in beside Harry.
"We're on the adult side today. Hope that's okay?" Harry says.
"Fine with me." Ari says.
"See you two at lunch." Louis says with a wave as he takes the hallway leading to the children's ER.
"Heard you spent all day Saturday with my mom." Harry says as they continue to their department. "I'm surprised you're able to make it to work today." He laughs.
Ari chuckles. "She wasn't that bad. She knows this town well." Ari says. "I'm not sure I'll remember everything she showed me, but I got most the major spots." She smiles.
"The shopping mall, hair dresser, nail salon and her favorite places to eat." Harry says with a smirk.
Ari laughs as she gives Harry a light push. "The museum, the best places to go to listen to live music, the most beautiful park I've ever seen and yes, her favorite place to eat." She smiles.
Harry looks down at Ari. "Wow. Mom must really like you. The last time she did something like this, it was what I named off." He smiles, it then fades as they reach the nurses station, looking up Ari sees why. Lily is standing there with an older man. When she spots them Harry sees her give him a smirk. "Niall, Mr. Horan, I don't think you've had the chance to meet one of our newest addition to our ER yet. This is Nurse Practitioner Arianna Coulter." Harry says.
"So you're the girl who knocked out the gunman the other day?" Mr. Horan asks.
Ari nods as she shakes his hand. "Yes sir. I had an opportunity and took it."
"Very well done. But the reason I'm here is for a different reason altogether." Mr. Horan says. "Dr. Styles it's been brought to my attention that your new nurse has been bullying other nurses here, telling them they're not good enough to work with you that's why she was given that assignment."
Ari gasps, stepping back, bumping into Harry as she did. Harry raises his hand, placing it on her shoulder. "Mr. Horan, I can assure you there's no way Ari said anything like that to anyone here. This is just her second day on the job, her first she spent most of that time with me. I will tell you this though, if it was Lily who told you that, I'm sure she did it out of revenge. Sir, Lily showed up at my house Saturday morning claiming Ari told her where I lived, which I know she didn't. I never told her where that was, the whole time we stood in the doorway, because I wouldn't let in my house, she kept running her hands on my arms and chest. I called Gail to report her for that behavior." Harry tells Mr. Horan truthfully.
Lily gives Harry a dirty look not realizing Niall is filming her with his phone.
Mr. Horan looks at Ari then glances over at the taller girl at his side, he sees the look she's giving the girl beside Harry. So he tests his theory. Leaning against the counter Greg looks over at his son's best friend and gives him a slight nod, when he nods back he begins.
Harry quickly leans down and whispers in Ari's ear while Lily's attention in on Greg. "Try not to act surprised, please. I'll explain later." When he sees her quick nod he knows she's in total agreement.
"What's going on?" Gail asks as she step up beside Ari.
"Now I'll continue." Greg says when he sees his beautiful wife walk up. "Ms. Jensen has accused Ms. Coulter of being a bully. Says she and the other nurses here aren't good enough to work with our prodigy Dr. Styles." He says, watching as Lily frowns at that but Ari just stands there like she's getting bored with this whole conversation.
Gail shakes her head. "I don't know why Ms. Jensen is even in this department right now, I called her to my office this morning and told her that she'd been moved to the third floor." Gail says. "After the complaint filed against her I assigned NP Cami Daniels to work with Dr. Tomlinson."
Getting pissed they weren't coming straight to the point of this conversation, Lily crosses her arms, and sits on the counter of the nurses station. Being one of the top nurses where she worked at before she was used to getting away with not doing much, telling others what to do due to her status. Here she didn't realize they went by reputation, class position when graduating, and what co-workers are so far saying about each person.
When Greg sees Lily sit down he looks over at Ari, seeing her still standing, back straight, hands folded in front of her, he gets to the point so they can fire this other trouble maker. Just as Greg is about to speak Lily opens her mouth.
"What does all this have to do with her being a bitch to all of us?" Lily snaps as a few of the other nurses who works with Harry all the time walk by.
Ari is never one to let shit like this pass without taking up for herself, but she also knew now isn't the time. Lily is digging herself a hole she couldn't get out of, so she just stood there quietly waiting as Harry absent-mindedly rubs his hand up and down her back.
