I nervously walks toward apartment 37, not really knowing why. Well, at least I'm not alone : Jade and SH accepted to come with me visit the defender, who suffers from broken ribs and won't play before the end of Christmas break, that is in a few weeks.
As we approach the door, we hear a few laughs : we obviously are not the only teammates visiting her, as we all hear Jill's not so quiet laugh rising on the other side of the door. And when Jade knocks on the door, our theory is confirmed.
The brunette middy smirks.
"You're late to the party, girls"
"A party ?" I ask, confused. "I didn't know there was-"
"Jeez, Mewis, it's a saying" Jill says, rolling her eyes. Obviously smirking because of how stupid that was, she then opens the door. "Come in."
I roll my eyes at her, but have to crack a smile.
A lot - okay, like, five including Lucy, but for me that's a lot - of girls are in that apartment. I am quite happy when I spot KB, and I'm glad Jill is there too. But when I almost bump into a familiar face, I freeze.
Jordan Nobbs.
Yay, another person that hates me.
"Yo, Mewis" she lets out, a neutral face on.
I swallow my saliva.
"Hi."
I walk past her, but I can feel her eyes following me until I disappear in the kitchen. I frown, shaking my head : what if Lucy told her everything ? Like, how much I screwed everything up in like two minutes ?
She has every reason to hate me, I can't blame her for that.
I spot Millie Bright, the Chelsea player that stopped the fight at today's game. As soon as my sister and bestie enter the apartment as well, the blonde walks toward us. She presents herself, saying that she liked to watch the three of us play in the NWSL. She is pretty cool, to be honest, and my first impression of her on the field was right.
a/n : Millie Bright
As Steph and Sam are talking to her, I spot Lucy in the corner of the room, talking with KB. I walk toward them, and soon the goalie gets that I want to talk to her for a bit, and goes back to our teammates and my crew. I can hear them talk about the blog, Sporting Chic, that everybody on the team has read because they wanted to see what I was writing. They ended up enjoying it, to my biggest surprise.
When Lucy sees me, she just hands me a glass of vine. I hesitate before taking it - last time I had alcohol wasn't so great - but I end up taking that glass.
"I wanted to thank you" Lucy suddenly says, as I am taking a sip of my drink. When she sees I am about to ask 'for what', she only smirks and adds: "For sticking with me on the field, even though we had a huge fight."
