chapter nine
it happened by scraps.
Austen regretted it.
She regretted saying it but she is the only one who can do it. Emma love Emmett too much, she is the only person who is willing to do anything just to bring him back.
By saying about her grandmother's possible involvement of the other DeLorean, Austen realized that Doc might ask her many questions and it would reveal on what really happened right after 1985.
"Emma? She can't do that." Doc said, perplexed on what Austen said.
Austen wanted to take it back but Doc bombarded her with questions regarding Emma's involvement.
"Austen, why would Emma do it? How can she possibly know about the DeLorean?"
Because you are dead while Marty vanished, Austen thought while staring at her granduncle.
"You know what, I just say it out of the blue. I just thought that Emma did it."
Austen felt that it is one of her most stupid remarks and she hope that it would convince Doc and Marty but the two men gave her a skeptical look, Doc is raising his eyebrow.
"Austen, do you know something?"
This what she feared. This is the question that she is trying to avoid. She damned herself on why the hell she said earlier and now, she is cornered.
With a straight face and in a monotone, she said to Doc, "I don't know anything."
Doc wasn't convinced to Austen, he looked at Marty who had the same thought. But Doc knew that Austen is like Emma, she is too stubborn to tell the truth so he will just pass it. But he will asked her again when she is off guard.
"Okay. I think we will just look for it then and find out who is the culprit."
Austen was speechless. It was a surprise that Doc didn't ask again, it seems that he is convinced by her.
"We will go back to my garage and look for some possible answers." Doc said and Marty suddenly said,
"Or we should look around the town or even in the junkyard."
"You are right, Marty."
The three of them went back to the truck and took their day by looking for the missing DeLorean from 2018. They went around Hill Valley to look for it and also asked some locals but none of them didn't know if they saw a car.
But as they passed the local junkyard, Austen saw the DeLorean at the scraps. So she said aloud,
"There it is!" She pointed out then they looked at where she was pointing at.
"Great Scott, it is really the DeLorean."
Marty parked the truck at the front of the junkyard and Doc hurriedly went out of the truck. They also went along with him but when they are about to get inside the junkyard, a man stopped Doc. He is quite buff and a lot taller than anyone of them.
"Oh, Doc Brown. Are you here for paying me?"
"Not now, Stanley. My imvention is right over there and I need to get it."
When Doc Emmett is about to move away, Stanley blocked his way and said,
"Doc Brown, you can't get inside the junkyard if you don't pay me."
Marty and Austen who are behind Doc Emmett seemed uneasy to the big guy. Before Doc Emmett is about to speak, Marty suddenly said,
"It is still owned by Doc Emmett, Big Stanley."
Stanley went closer to Marty and Austen is surprised that Marty looks so small to Stanley which he slowly walked away from the big man. Austen can't believe that this is actually happening so she speak up with all her might,
"Mister, we right fully own that car so whether you like it or not, we will get it."
The humongous man looked at her and Austen suddenly shivered in fright,
"You are not from here and why do you have funny clothes?"
Marty is giggling beside her and Austen playfully punched his arm, trying to shut him up.
"Well, I am not really from here. I am from New York and I am Emma Brown's daughter if you know her."
The serious man suddenly changed his facial expression when she mentions the name of Emma Brown, he asked politely,"Em? You are Em's daughter? How come I didn't know? You got Emma's eyes and the nose..." Stanley rambles to Austen which she smiled.
"You and Emma are bestfriends at highschool, am I right? She always talked about you." Austen asked Stanley.
"Yes."
Then he went near to her and whispered, his voice suddenly changed to feminine,
"And she is the only who knows that I am a woman by heart." He winked at her, making Austen laughed.
Emma did talk about Stanley Brookes, also known at 2018 as a first transexual on winning as a mayor on a small municipal not far from Hill Valley. When the two men noticed that Stanley became comfortable with Austen, Doc Emmett interrupted their conversation,
"We have no time to chit chat, I truly need to get the car."
"We are not finished Doc Brown, you have some debts in my junkyard." The Stanley that Austen talked seconds ago instantly became very masculine so before anything gets worse, she went to Stanley and said,
"Stanley, we really need the car. Please."
Stanley looked at her and of course, he did owe big for Emma so he had no choice.
"I will say yes because of Austen and not to you Doc Brown, you should pay me." Stanley said
"Yes, I will pay you." Doc Brown said.
So without any further ado, they went to the DeLorean. They looked around the car and it is obvious that it is still in one piece.
"We will fix this at home and lets see on why someone made the DeLorean."
But at the back of the mind of Austen, it is Emma Brown who maybe let her go back to 1985 in order to save Marty Mcfly and Doc Emmett Brown.
