The light in life went out of his eyes
Where was the Hope that once satisfied?
Now laid in dust, it was cold....it had died
He didn't think it could be revived
He knew the world now
He knew the pain
He knew the clouds
Could not unrain
He searched and traveled far and wide
But never that light, could he re-find
In the darkness, he was tested
He was tried
But no answer could he ever provide
He feared the world now
He felt the pain
He wished the clouds
Would stop their rain
Was he stuck forever in these chains?
He needed hope
He needed shelter
He needed light
In the darkness
Where was the hope?
Where was the shelter?
Did night not end--forever?
He knew the world now
He'd felt the pain
But he knew if he stepped out
Into the rain
It wouldn't drawn him
And he'd find his way
