I had talked to Liam twice in the past week, though he didn't seem interested in keeping the conversation either time. I still felt bad for hurting him, especially after everything he did for me. However, Harry made me happy.

"Louis!?" Harry called from the kitchen. I walked in, and asked what he needed.

"What do you want for dinner?" He asked.

"Spaghetti." I immediately decided.

"Okay." He smiled, kissing my forehead.

"Do you have work again tonight?" I asked. He had been working a lot at night lately.

"I think so." He frowned.

"When's your next night off? And why do you have to go in so often?" I pouted.

"I'm not sure, and because nobody else likes working nights." He shrugged. I nodded. Harry, as he had told me a week ago, liked working at night much more than days. They were less busy, he had more time to himself and didn't have to communicate with many other co-workers.

"Oh." I stated.

Harry had already left when Liam called me.

"Hey." He said.

"Hi." I responded. I wasn't sure why he was calling, but I was glad we were talking. I missed him.

"How have you been?" He wondered, though we had only talked a few days ago.

"Good, you?"

"I've been okay, I guess. I miss having you around, you weren't bad company." He chuckled, but it sounded hollow.

"I miss you, too." I replied.

"Is Harry around?" He wondered after it was quiet for a moment.

"Oh, no. He's been working nights this week. He only had one night off. Poor guy, they're working him to death." I explained.

Liam didn't say anything for so long, I had to make sure he was still there.

"Yeah. Sorry. At least he likes his job. I remember he told me that he likes working nights. Well, he used to. I don't know if he still does." Liam said.

"He loves his job. And yeah, he still likes working nights. I guess it's easier to bake and stuff when there aren't as many people." I agreed.

"Understandable. I'm glad that I can choose my own hours, since I'll be a designer. I can basically work whenever I want, as long as I complete my deadlines." He laughed.

"You won't have deadlines if you do your own company." I pointed out. That's what he wanted to do, or at least I thought it was.

"See, that's kind of why I called..." He trailed off.

"Oh? Is everything alright?" I wondered.

"Yeah, I think." He said.

"What'd you need to talk about?" I asked, a little bit worried.

"I might be moving to New York. After a few months of working for this company here, I could go to New York and start my own business." He told me.

"Oh." Was all I could manage to say. He was going all the way to New York?

"Yeah. So, I just wanted to let you know. I'm not really sure why. I'll miss you, though." He sighed.

"We'll see each other in the next few months, though, right?" I asked.

"I- I don't know if that's best." He admitted. I felt !y heart fall, though I knew I was to blame.

"Oh. Okay. I'll miss you too, Liam." I told him.

He laughed once.

"Will we talk at all?" I worried.

"I think it's best for both of us if we just don't bother with each other anymore." He stated, and it took me several minutes to absorb his words.

"Okay." I breathed.

"Goodbye, Louis." He said, and the line went dead before I even had a chance to say it back.
