Calum's POV
"Bye guys! I'll see you at school tomorrow." I tell Luke, Michael and Ashton as they leave my house.
"See ya mate." Michael waves.
"Happy birthday!" Ashton tells me.
I thank him and shut the door, turning around to see Dani picking empty cups up off of the floor and putting them in a trash bag.
"You don't have to stay and help, you know." I tell her.
"I know but I helped throw the party so I should help clean it up." She says, standing up and looking at me.
I walk over to her and wrap my arms around her, pulling her into a hug. She hugs back and rests her chin on my shoulder.
"Thank you." I say.
"No problem." She replies. "Could I ask you something?"
"Yeah, anything." I say, pulling back but still holding onto her. She leaves her arms wrapped around my neck as well.
"Why did you break up with Jessica?" She asks, almost whispering.
I take a deep breath and look past her. "Well, its like I said. She lied and cheated on me plus I like someone else." I say and look back to her.
"Oh." She says, looking down.
She looked sad and at first I thought it was because I broke up with Jessica. When I realized that was the most stupidest thing I could ever come up with, I immediately knew why she was upset.
"I like you, Dani." I say.
She looks up from the floor, her eyes meeting mine. Did I really just say that? It was what she wanted to hear, right? Or did I completely misread her expression and ruin our friendship?
"Calum," She says but stops there.
I bite my lip, waiting for her to continue, but she doesn't. At first I thought I just screwed everything up until she places her lips on mine.
I kiss back, cupping her cheek with one hand and leaving my other arm wrapped around her, pulling her closet to me.
This kiss was even more special than the one we shared a couple of days ago. This time, I knew she liked me back.
Once we pull away, I rest my forehead against hers, smiling.
"Wow." I smile.
"That feels alot more comfortable when a 150 pound boy didn't just fall on me." She says, making us both erupt with laughter.

Dani's POV
As the bell rings, everyone gets up from their seats and rushes out of the classroom.
"Don't forget to study! Your test is on Thursday." The teacher tells us.
As I walk out of the room and start headed towards the cafeteria, Calum joins me.
"School is so gross." He sighs.
I laugh. "Cheer up. It's almost summer time."
"Keyword: almost, which means it's not summer yet and until then I will cry." He says, opening the cafeteria door for me.
Me and Calum have been talking a lot more since him and Jessica broke up. It felt nice to have my best friend back.
As we take a seat at our usual table with the boys, they bombard us with questions.
"What the heck happened at the party?"
"Has Jessica said anything to you?"
"Are you two a thing now?"
I blush at the last question and pull out my lunch.
"I broke up with her." Calum shrugs like it was no big deal.
"She hit you too and that was hilarious." Michael laughs.
"How'd you know she was really cheating on you?" Ashton asked. The last time he saw Calum before the party, he believed Jessica was innocent.
"I had known it. There was a picture of her and Adam on Instagram a while ago then when Dani told us about Pop's I just knew it was true." He sighs.
"I'm sorry, Cal." I apologize. I kind of felt bad for breaking them up.
"Don't apologize. I didn't like her as much as I like you." He smiles, leaning his head on my shoulder.
"So are you guys together?" Michael smirks.
"Michael stop! You can't rush love." Ashton giggles.
"Love? Please. I know an attention-seeker when I see one." I hear behind me.
I turn around to face the infamous Jessica. I'm so tired of her crap I don't even hold back.
"Well you know what they say, takes one to know one." I smile. Behind me I hear Michael start snickering.
"Funny." Jessica rolls her eyes.
"What are you even doing over here Jessica? I broke up with you, remember?" Calum sighs.
Her expression immediately switches from angry to compassionate as she sits down beside Calum and puts her hand on his shoulder. "I just wanted to give you another chance, Cally. I know you don't really want to be with her, do you?"
Was Jessica right? She's a lot prettier than me, why would Calum want me?
"Jessica," Calum says, leaning closer to her.
"Yes?" She smirks, leaning closer to him.
"Just because you're a terrible person and can't get a boy to like you doesn't mean you have to ruin other people's relationships." Calum tells her.
Her smile drops and she grows angry again. She stands up and throws the chair into the table, attempting to push it in.
"For your information, there is a boy who likes me. Adam. I was just dating you to get back at him for breaking up with me." She snaps at Calum.
"If he is so in love with you then why'd he try to get with Dani?" Luke ask, raising his eyebrows and joining in on the conversation.
"That was a little something extra I thought of. I knew Dani liked him so I had to keep her away from Calum somehow. Her deserves alot better." Jessica smirks, looking at me and putting a hand on her hip.
I really didn't care about what Jessica said now. I had Calum and she didn't.
"You're pathetic." Calum says.
"Whatever. You'll be back." She says, walking away.
We all watch her walk away in silence.
"That girl is crazy." Ashton faces us, wide eyed.
"She got Adam to try to date me so it would keep me away from Calum so she could have him all to herself and make me jealous?" I ask slowly, trying to process what just happened.
"For someone who just had a party, I sure am stressed." Michael laughs.
"I'm glad it's all sorted out now though." Luke says.
"Me too." Calum smiles, putting his arm around me.

So basically if you didn't understand, Jessica started dating Calum to get back at Adam after he broke up with her. Her and Adam got back together but she liked making Dani upset so she got Adam to try to go out with her so Jessica could stay with Calum. Fun times.
