Delta's POV:

After class let out, I met up with Adam, Chase, Leo and Zadie in the hallway. Of course, they were talking about the dance.

"Guys, with the dance coming up, I thought you could use a lesson on how to ask a lady out." Leo told them.

"Oh, great; do you know a who can?" Adam asked.

"Me!" He shot back, "You're gonna watch me ask out the girl of my dreams, Danielle." He gazed at the blonde sitting on the bench talking with her group of friends.

Zadie loudly laughed, "that's a good one, Leo." As he shot her an unamused look, her grin faded, "Wait, you're serious?"

"Yes!" He argued.

"Danielle? Isn't she the girl who uses you as a footstool in math class?" Chase asked.

"Where else is she supposed to put her feet? The floor?"

"You mean like a normal person?" I sarcastically questioned.

"Just because you don't have a male footstool doesn't mean you get to diss on Danielle." Leo said, his tone carrying a hint of defensiveness.

I rolled my eyes, glancing to Zadie, who had the same expression as me.

"Open your notebooks, boys and girls, 'cause class is in session." Leo announced to us as he strolled over to Danielle. Luckily for us, we could hear the whole thing.

"Hello, Danielle. Do you know how much a polar bear weighs?" He jumped over the bench, sitting next to her, "Enough to break the ice. I'm Leo Dooley."

She smiled widely at him, "Didn't you send me 87 emails?"

"Yeah, that was a slow day." Leo sighed.

I leaned to Adam, "you might wanna write down desperate."

Danielle stood up, tossing her backpack over her shoulder. "Okay, well, see you later, Lenny," She called as she walked off.

He told her loudly as she left, "It's Leo by the way." He waved obsessively as he made his way back over to us.

"So, Leo, what should I write down in my notebook? I mean, other than denied." Chase joked.

Adam added, "Delta helped me with my notes...it says desperate."

Zadie tried to contain her laugh as she added, "Come on, guys. You can cheat off me. I have, 'she's not going to the dance with Lenny'."

Bree joined us in the hall as we joked at Leo's expense.

"Are you guys talking about the dance too?" She huffed, "Why is everybody making such a big deal out of this stupid dance?"

Chase raised an eyebrow, assuming, "Nobody's asked you yet, have they?"

Bree crossed her arms, "No, I really wanna go with that guy." She motioned to this guy named Ethan. Her eyes were dreamy as she told us, "His name is Ethan. We sit next to each other in chemistry. Coincidence? I think not. Chemistry!"

"So?" Zadie scoffed, "Chase and I sit next to each other in chemistry, and it doesn't mean anything." She shrugged, "Well, anything other than that I get to cheat off his homework."

Chase looked to her, surprised, "You cheat off my homework?"

"No," She told him, "Quizzes too."

Bree sighed, bringing the conversation back to her struggles with Ethan, "What should I do?"

"I got this." Chase said, brushing his hair behind his ear to listen, "He's talking about a girl he thinks is cute."

Zadie leaned in toward Chase, her eyes narrowing with curiosity. "Remind us to hang out later. Rebecca Mill from English is definitely talking crap about me, and I need to know what she's saying."
