Chapter 14: Valentine's Day

                                    

                                          
It's just a normal day at school, I guess. Violet thought, walking at Heartland Academy. For now, she was adjusting to being in her junior year, along with the blue uniform dress she had to wear. She was confused when she saw that girls were holding teddy bears or any other love-intended gifts. "What's up with those gifts?" She inquired.
                          
"Oh. Violet, don't you know..what day it is?" Rio stepped into the conversation.
                          
"Um..No? Isn't it--"
                          
"Valentine's Day!" Rio blurted out. She had heart eyes. "I can't wait for the types of gifts I'll be getting."
                          
In a matter of seconds, a lot of boys appeared and were making a large crowd around her. They were mostly shouting, "Rio! Here's my gift to you!" 
                          
Or they either said: "No! Take mines! It's more better than the others!" 
                          
Just by taking a look in the boys' eyes, you could tell that they would shower her with as many gifts as possible it would take for her to fall in love with any of them! Rio and Violet sweat dropped. "Oh my, I wasn't expecting this much gifts. I didn't mean it...literally."
                          
"Wow. I didn't know you were popular with your looks." Violet said.
                          
"Heh...Yeah." Rio was nervous.
                          
Reginald was walking and he saw what was going on. "HEY!" He shouted, which caught the attention of the two girls.
                          
"Rio." Violet got the girl's attention. "Your brother.. He's over..." She pointed to the purple-haired boy, who was at a distance from them. "There."
                          
Rio turned around and freaked out. "W-what!? Not him! Who knows what he'll do--"
                          
"He's coming." Violet's words sent shivers up Rio's spine. She shrieked. "He's coming over here! What do I do? What do I do?" She looked both ways. "This crowd is too big. We're trapped in it and we need to get going to class."
                          
"Um..What about if you," Violet whispered to Rio in her ear. "Turn them all down and tell them the truth. It wouldn't hurt, to try?"
                          
"Great! It's worth a shot!" Rio cleared her throat, a signal that she was about to say something important. "Listen boys."
                          
"Yeees... We're listening...Rio." The boys paid attention to Rio, while looking at her with their heart eyes of their's.
                          
"I think it's really nice that each of you bought me a gift to give me for Valentine's Day. And I think it's very thoughtful to think about me." Rio blushed. "But I'm sorry to say that I can't accept any of your gifts. I just can't. Besides, I'm taken already."
                          
"What!? You're taken!? Awwww..." The boys said.
                          
Then Shark came. "Yeah! My sister is right. She has a boyfriend. So....everybody else..get lost and go to your classes!" After saying that, the males all separated, giving Violet and Rio space.
                          
"Thanks, Reginald!" Rio Kastle thanked her big brother. "Come on, Violet! Let's start heading to class!"
                          
"Sure."

Valentine's Day. I don't like it. Besides...I've never gotten a valentine before. So...what's the point? And I don't have a boyfriend or anything so it doesn't really matter....I guess? Violet Flowers thought to herself. 
                          
Rio got a gift from her boyfriend. She opened up the box. It was a sapphire bracelet. She put it on her wrist, admiring her new look with it. "It's so pretty! Thanks Bronk!"
                          
"You're welcome."
                          
Violet went to her locker to go get something. She opened it and something fell out. She picked up a big red paper heart. She opened it, and read what it had said.
                          
'You blossom like a flower
                          
You're cute when you smile
                          
I think you're beautiful... Violet Flowers.'
                          
Violet blushed when she had finished reading the poem. It instantly changed her mood, it made her feel happy in the inside... even if it was from an anonymous boy. She hugged her valentine to her chest and then when no one was looking, she put it in her backpack.
                          
"Where's Yuma?" Tori Meadows said to herself while she was out in the open. "We're supposed to walk home together." She stomped her foot while waiting patiently. "I swear..." A red sign of temper appeared on the top of her head. "If he's out doing something wreckless or if he's going to take any longer... I'll--"
                          
"Tori!" Tori's eyes widened when she heard her name being called out. She turned her head and saw Yuma Tsukumo running to her.
                          
"Yuma? Why are you so late--"
                          
Tori was about to blow off her steam until Yuma's words silenced her. "I know I'm late. And I'm sorry to keep you waiting for..." Yuma sweat dropped. "About 20 minutes."
                          
Tori closed her eyes and yelled at him. "Then why are you late? It better be for a good reason!" 
                          
"I was late because I went to the store to get you this," Yuma took out a box and put them in Tori's hands. Tori opened up her eyes. "You got these for me? Since it's..." She had a visible blush that began to form on her cheeks. "Valentine's Da--"
                          
Yuma cut her off because he didn't want her to finish the rest of the sentence. He began to stutter a bit, "N-no! I-I..." He turned the other way so that she couldn't see his embarrassed face. "just wanted to get you something nice."
                          
"I...I... don't know what to say." She opened up the small box. "Yuma. It's beautiful." Her gift was a new hair ribbon. "Thanks." She closed the box. As a response, Yuma nodded his head. "Anyways.... let's go now."
                          
At a distance, Alito saw Tori and Yuma walking together while he was hiding from them. So much for trying to express my love for Tori. He dropped the red rose and the box of chocolates that he was holding. He stepped on the top of the rose with his shoe, destroying the red rose petals. That Yuma beat me to it. I'll get him next time. He then walked away, leaving the mess behind that he had made.
