"Why is your brother here?" Jace asked through a tight lipped smile, "And why is he near my sister?"

"I invited him because he was lonely." I shrugged simply.

"Why did he run out of girls to bang?" Jace asked.

Tyler's shoulders tended up, but he ignored Jace... or so it had seemed.

"At least I can get girls." Tyler retorted.

Jace laughed, "I get plenty of girls."

"Yeah but you still haven't learned to not go after things that don't belong to you." Tyler said with a fake smile.

"I go after what I want." Jace said shrugging.

"And what do you want right now?" Tyler challenged.

"You know what I want." Jace smirked.

Tyler stood up quickly, but I was quick to shove him back down. "Tyler no." I murmured. "Jace, cut it out."

"Yeah Jace be nice to Ty Ty." Hallie reprimanded.

Jace's jaw fell open, "Hal, you're taking his side?"

"Well," Tyler said, "You may get the girls, but I have my sister and your sister."

This time Jace was the one to take a threatening step towards Tyler, but I stepped in front of them.

No matter what, Tyler and I'd always be a team.

Jace glared at me with venom.

I shrugged.

Fast forwarding to the present, Jace and Tyler stared each other down across the table.

"Pass the salt." Jace said.

"You're already salty enough." Tyler retorted.

Cal chuckled.

Jace glared.

Hallie giggled.

Jace glared.

Tyler smiled.

Jace glared.

I sighed.

Jace glared.

Then Hallie blurted out the worst thing she could possibly say. "Ty ty, did you know that Jace and Lexi slept together?" Since she was still a little child, she didn't understand the difference of sleeping together and sleeping next to each other.

Tyler was red in the face and his fists were ready. "Lexi?" He asked slowly.

"It's not what it seems, she doesnt know the other meaning. I swear we literally just fell asleep next to each other-"

"We had sex." Jace bluntly interrupted.

That was the last straw.

Tyler flipped the table behind him, food and all. He lifted Jace up by his collar and punched him in the face.

Then he proceeded to storm out.

I took the kids to bed since it was late and helped them get in. When I got back, Jace was sitting on the couch staring at the ground. I walked to the kitchen to get an ice.

I walked back into the living room with an ice pack. "I'm so sorry about that jace, I don't know what got into Tyler," I sighed and sat down next to him.

"It's okay," Jace said so quietly it was almost a whisper, "I antagonized him. I'm sorry you got dragged into it."

I put the ice on Jace's eye, and leaned in a little closer so I could look at it. When I was done, it occurred to me how close our faces were.

I looked at Jace who was already looking at me and accidentally let my eyes slip down to how close his lips were to mine.

I saw the corner of his mouth twitch up as he leaned closer to me.

A scream rang out into the silence.

Jace's eyes went from dark to bright with worry. A crinkle appeared around his eyes and he shoved me away from him. I was offended before he whispered, "Cal."

I began to panick too. We looked at each other for a split second and ran up the stairs side by side. I threw open the door to Cal's room and another scream sounded. There he was thrashing about on the bed, screaming.

Jace ran towards him and grabbed hold of his arms, "Quick get his legs." He commanded.

I ran and grabbed hold of his calves, keeping them still and held together. Jace threw his body on top of Cal's and hugged him.

"Cal! It's ok. You're ok. You're going to be ok. You need to relax buddy, you need to relax." Jace said in a calm voice that I could sense a hint of panic. "You need to relax."

Cal's eyes bolted open and he stopped struggling. He started gasping for air, but I was already one step ahead of him, grabbing his inhaler off of his night stand.

I handed it to Jace, and Jace helped him use it.

"You ok buddy?" Jace asked when Cal had stopped gasping.

"Yeah," Cal answered breathless, "I'm fine."

"Ok buddy." Jace said, kissing him on the forehead as we both stood up to leave.

"Wait, Jace, Lex. Will you two stay in here?" Cal asked.

Jace glanced at me questioningly.

"Yeah, Cal." I said. "We will."

I ran to my room to grab two pillows and two blankets. Then I walked back to Cal's room and tossed a pair to Jace.

"Thanks." He said.

Jace and I laid out on opposite sides of the room, and listened as Cal's breathing, and a light snore came from the bed.

"Hey Lexi?" Jace asked into the darkness as I began drifting off.

"Yeah?" I said through a yawn.

"Thanks for dealing with us and all of our.... craziness."

"No problem Jace." I said, and I fell into a sleep.
