Thursday.
The day was finally here. I stood in Ellas room grabbing the things she asked me too. Most of her stuff was staying here until she was out of the hospital, someone would come and collect her things later on.
                          
I drove myself to the hospital. The present I got for Ella was sitting in the front seat of the car. 
I parked my car and took the box and her things out with me. On my way up to Ellas room I bumped into her father Matthew. 
"Joey!" He said "Finally you're here, Ellas been waiting all morning. I'm just heading out to put more things in the ambulance that will be taking us away ". 
                          
I found it funny, Ellas parents were very chatty people.
                          
"Oh wonderful, I have some of Ellas things, could I bring them out".
"I'll bring them out, you go up to Ella, we will be leaving soon".
I handed him the box and the bag of her things. 
"Can you give her that box when she arrives in boston".
"I sure can Joey, I sure can".
I gave him a nod before heading upstairs. 
Ella was in her room along with her mum and sister, she was being held up my some nurses and was slowly shuffling off the bed.
"Right Ella, we're going to see how you handle weight being put on your legs". I stood out of the way, my stomach was in knots, would she be able to even stand.
The two nurses lifted her up, and gently and slowly lowered her towards the ground. Her feet touched the ground, her arms were clenching on to the nurses. I crossed my fingers.
                          
"Okay" one nurse said "Try lowering some of your weight off us and try propping yourself up". 
                          
Ella loosened her grip on the nurses and immediately started to squeal. "No! Ow ow ow!". She was quickly lifted back onto the bed. 
"Okay, that wasn't as successful as we had hoped but I'm sure that over in boston they'll get you on your feet".
                          
I was disappointed too. I sat down beside her. "Don't worry Ella, that was only the first time trying".
"Yeah but I just was so hopeful, what if everytime is like this,  I can barely bend my legs, I can't even sit in a wheel chair without kicking someone in the stomach, I'm going to be in a bed for the rest of my damn life" 
                          
"That's not happening Ella, I bet you that you will be running around the place in no time, nothing and I mean nothing, can keep you from achieving your goals, you are brave and strong and nothing is going to stop you". 
                          
"I love you joey" She said leaning in for a kiss, I turned my face away, her mum and sister were still in the room. "Oh we will just go for five minutes" her mum said standing up quickly, her sister followed her put and I turned to Ella again. "I'm sorry" I laughed leaning in to kiss her. 
When we pulled away she frowned.
"What's up" I asked.
"I am just going to miss you so much, everything about you".
"I'm going to miss you way more".
"No i am".
"Impossible..".
                          
I stood at the door of the hospital as I watched the ambulance drive further and further away. This was tough.
