(Author's note: I told myself my first Super 4 fanfic would be about Alex. And it is about Alex. But I expected myself to write something with a ship. Instead I wrote something about just him.

Anyway, enjoy the story!)

"Wow, where am I going to go?"

Within the castle walls of the Kingdom of Kingsland was Prince Alexander, or Alex. He was seated in the castle's classroom, a map of Kingsland spread out on the table in front of him. Told to memorize all the districts and towns of the kingdom by Sir Gareth while under the knight's watchful eye. One could tell that he was losing interest in what he was doing. It was safe to say that he was getting bored. Well, that one would have to be Sir Gareth, because the only two in the classroom were him and the prince.

Thankfully for Alex his question wasn't heard, because the last thing Sir Gareth said was not a reprimand about leaving. Instead, though, it was homework, and shortly after did the knight leave the room before saying "And I expect you to hand it to me tomorrow morning."

Once Sir Gareth was gone Alex went out of the classroom. But not before he took the map, of course. He went to his room, opening his wardrobe to look for something he could possibly wear to sneak out. It was what he had been plotting while in the classroom. He let out a sigh at his limited choices of attire. They were either royal robes, sleepwear, or something that bore the Kingsland coat of arms. Soon enough, though, did he find something. "I don't know if regular clothes will work, though..." He muttered as he looked at his selection of clothing: a white dress shirt and brown trousers. If he wore the shoes he normally wore during formal gatherings, he would have trouble walking, so he just slipped on a pair of comfortable boots and a dark hooded cloak before tossing a long rope made out of sheets out the window. Hopefully he wouldn't be found out...

...

Map in hand and bag of gold attached to his belt as he managed to escape the castle, Alex wondered where to go first. "Do I want to go the shopping district first?" He scratched his head as he looked at the map. As much as he's memorized the map of Kingsland he had no idea where he was!

Soon enough, though did he reach a crowded part of the kingdom. People were chatting with each other. Rows of stands were positioned on either side of the road. A few buildings stood behind some of the stalls. People exchanging gold for goods. That was when he realized he was in the town's shopping district.

Walking through the area, he looked around. It never occurred to him that people would provide goods in exchange for money. Having lived most of his life behind castle walls he never really knew anything about...work, with peopleI doing so much only to get little gold in order to survive. He felt a pang of guilt at the thought. The thought of what was he was seeing gave him all the more reason to leave the--

"Oof!"

Someone bumped into him! And this person even stole his bag of gold! Gritting his teeth in anger, he ran after the perpetrator. "Stop! Thief!" He called out before reaching behind him. It was a dagger. Or at least to a normal person's eyes it was a dagger. And with a flick of the wrist, his dagger extended itself into a sword! He managed to catch up with the thief and went in front of them, pointing his sword to the other's nose.

"You're not getting away, thief!" He announced. But little did he notice the wind blowing his way as it pushed his hood down. He did notice, though, everyone looking at him. Now why were they looking at him?

A knight who had been positioned outside of the castle seemed to have noticed Alex, because next thing Alex knew he could hear "It's Prince Alexander!" "Knights, after him!"

I guess I'm not having a normal day, after all...

Running away from the knights after sheathing his sword, he thought to himself: "Why do I have to be a prince? Being a prince is so boring, I just wish I wasn't! Sure, I'm getting things I want, but they're not enough to satisfy me! And when I leave, I stand out too much because of my lineage." He didn't know where he was going, but he just hoped wherever he was going the knights wouldn't catch up to him. "I want to run away!"

"Don't look at me!" He wanted to say, but he couldn't. He had doubts anyone wanted to hear their beloved prince say such a thing.

...

"You can't do this anymore!"

"You can do it, Alex!"

It had been a year since that day, and Alex was now facing off against the Baron. He could hear his friends calling out for him as moral support after the Baron tried to tell him to give up the fight. The sound of metal striking metal filled the air as he guarded himself using his sword from whatever attacks the Baron tried to land on him.

Thinking back, he always dreamed of leaving the kingdom to go on adventures. He never thought that dream would come true. But it did, and it was right there in front of him. Out of the castle in a far-off land, fighting off evil that came his way, surrounded by friends...

"You're all by yourself, Prince Alexander!" The Baron sneered. "You may as well surrender! I know it's harsh, but what good are you by yourself?" He thrust his sword in an attempt to stab the other's torso, only to be stopped by Alex's bare hand.

"That is where you're wrong, Baron!" Alex only let out a grin. He didn't pay mind to his hand suddenly bleeding. "I'm not alone! And even if my friends aren't fighting with me, I know they're cheering me on!" Using his sword he flung away the Baron's off his hand, kicking him to the ground before pointing his sword to the Baron's face.

Almost right away did the Baron flee and called his men to follow him.

"Alex!"

Turning his head did he see his friends, battered and bruised from fighting against the Baron's men, run to his direction. Twinkle immediately hugged him, Ruby hugged him too but not as tightly, and Gene patted his shoulder.

"I was afraid you'd be a goner!" Twinkle almost cried out. "The Baron hurt you really badly!"

Ruby looked dismayed. "If we meet the Baron again, I'm going to kick his cuttlefish SO HARD he won't stand up again!"

"Knowing the probability of your victory, I was afraid you would lose, considering how much injuries you have taken." Gene let out a scared sigh.

To their surprise, though, did they notice Alex...laugh!

"I never realized how much all of you cared about me!" He said through laughs. "With how you all care, I feel like my heart is about to burst!"

Ruby, Twinkle, and Gene all just laughed with him as they all gathered into a group hug.
