"The Battle of Willow Creek took place right at the end of the war in our very own Mystic Falls. How many casualties resulted in this battle? Ms. Bennett?" Their history teacher, Mr. Tanner asks the teenager.

The class including Thea, looks over at the dark haired girl.

"Um.... a lot? I'm not sure. Like a whole lot." She giggles slightly caught off guard. The class laughs at her answer while Tanner rolls his eyes.

"Cute becomes dumb in an instant, Ms. Bennett." Thea slightly glares at the back of his head after hearing his comment towards her friend. Tanner then proceeds to look at the blonde jock. "Mr. Donovan? Would you like to take this opportunity to overcome your embedded jock stereotype?"

Matt looks up at the teacher. "It's okay, Mr. Tanner. I'm cool with it." The class, along with Thea, laughs with the jock.

Tanner gives Matt a look of annoyance. Tanner turns to the other side of the class room and looks at Elena. The rest of the students follow his gaze as he says, "hmm. Elena? Surely you can enlighten us about one of the towns most significantly historical events?"

Thea looks at her cousin in sympathy, knowing that she didn't know the answer due to the tragic event months prior.

"I'm sorry. I-i don't know." The brunette says.

Tanner sighs, "I was willing to be lenient last year for obvious reasons, Elena. But the personal excuses ended with summer break." Elena looks down at her desk out of embarrassment, while Thea full on glares at her teacher. what an ass. Thea thinks.

Someone behind the strawberry blonde speaks up, as Thea begins to speak.

"There were 3 -" Thea looks at Stefan and smiles at him as a sign to continue.

"There were 346 casualties, unless you're counting local civilians."

When he was done they look at each other and Thea mouths "thank you." Stefan nods at her.

Tanner looks at Stefan. "That's correct, mister....?" He trails off not remembering Stefan's name.

"Salvatore." He answers.

"Salvatore. Any relation to the original settlers here at Mystic Falls?"

Stefan hesitates slightly before replying, "distant."

"Well, very good. Except, of course, there were no civilian casualties in this battle." Tanner says smugly.

"Actually, there were 27, sir. Confederate soldiers, fired on the the church, believing is to be housing weapons. They were wrong. It was a night of great loss. The founders archives are, uh, stored in civil hall is you'd like to brush up on your facts, Mr. Tanner."

Thea smirks at his answer. Go Stefan.

"The left one." Her cousins smiles then walks into the bathroom, that's adjoined to her younger brothers. She comes out wearing said shirt and walks to her mirror and touches up her hair.
