The next day, Teagan was checking over every car to make sure everything was in line when Tej and Roman arguing caught her attention. She just shook her head and walked over to Dom who was working on an orange Camaro.
"Dom," Han says catching their attention as he walks around the corner. "I did some checking, asked around, and got the location of a street race tonight."
"Four speed Camaro SS big block," Dom explains as Han eyes the car behind them. "You like?"
"Nice color," Han comments.
Teagan's smile is soon faded when metal grappling hook pierces the concrete wall. The three of them look over to see Roman pushing the device into Tej's hands. Tej then looks back at us and points a finger at Roman. God, sometimes boys just acted like boys.
*~*
That night, Teagan in a rolling chair and was spinning around it in while Tej watched the live feed to keep tabs on everything. Tej watched the girl smile as she spun in circles. Some were slow, some fast, but nonetheless she sported a cheesy grin. She suddenly sticks out her arms and grabs the table, stopping herself. Everything around her was spinning and wouldn't stop. She probably shouldn't have done that.
"I think I'm going to puke," She whispers. Tej lets out a laugh and sets a hand on his girlfriend's hand to comfort her.
In that moment Dom and Hobbs walk in and the two look at the couple in confusion before Hobbs takes a stand in front of a monitor TV.
"Tej, talk to me," Hobbs says. "What have we got?"
"We were able to track Shaw after he left you and Dom," Tej starts. "But this guy's smart, so we could only track him so far. He seems to know all the city's blind spots." Tej gets up and gestures to the monitor. "See, we lost him somewhere in here, which means he could be anywhere within that half-a-mile radius. Maybe if we cross-reference phone records, leases..."
"No, this has got Shaw's name written all over it," Riley says. "We've got vantage points, multiple exits, subways, highways and storm drains."
As they continue to talk, Teagan stands up and takes a stand behind Riley. Why was she so confident that this has Shaw's name on it? She cut Tej off before he could even finish and started naming things. Teagan already didn't like cops, but this woman in front of her made her feel uneasy. But that was also probably the queasiness of spinning in a chair talking. Also probably the pregnancy.
Riley turns around and stares down the blonde who was behind her. "Can I help you with something?" She asks.
"No," Teagan says and takes a few steps back.
Riley and Hobbs leave to go investigate the premises while Tej goes to take a seat at his computers. Teagan makes her way over to the big table holding all the files of Shaw's crew, Dom's crew, along with Hobbs and Riley. She opens up all of Shaw's crews' files along with Riley's. Something wasn't right with Riley; she was too calm through all of this.
Reading each one separately, she starts to see a pattern. "Does anyone have a notebook and a pen?" She asks and a few eyes hit her, confused looks all around. "Don't tell me that the government can afford all this fancy equipment for the rest of you, but can't get me a fricken notebook?"
"Here," Roman says and grabs a spiral notebook and pencil from a cabinet. He walks over and hands them to her. She pulls up a seat and sits in front of all the files and the notebook. Roman doesn't ask any questions and walks away not entirely sure what the girl was up to.
She quickly makes a T-chart and dedicates one side to Shaw's crew and the other to Riley. Tuning out everything she starts to compare every location on the files. She even went and got herself a laptop to check online records.
Taking a few hours to examine every minor detail, Teagan finally sits back. Riley has been at every crime scene for only this group of renegades. She started out as an officer, and then went to the academy the same time the group decided to take a "break". Everything about her was so coincidental to Shaw's group; Teagan was having a tough time believing this girl was on their side.
"Yo, it's Hobbs!" Tej shouts and her head perks up.
"What have you got, Parker?" Hobbs asks through speakerphone. "Give me something good."
"Yeah, that paint you got from Shaw's place is highly specialized," Tej starts to explain.
"Anti-thermal lo-IR coating."
"Military," Dom speaks up and takes a step away from his car.
"Exactly," Tej agrees. "We got a list of bases around Europe that use this paint type and those specific colors."
"All right, let's cross-reference that with all of Shaw's military targets." Hobbs' voice says. "I guaran-damn-tee you one of them is gonna match."
"Bingo!" Tej says figuring it out. "It's a NATO base in Spain."
"That puts Shaw in a different country," Dom sighs. "That means he's got an eight-hour lead on us."
"We gotta move now," Hobbs says. "Tej, give me that info. Riley and I will go ahead and we're going to lock down the base. We're going to protect that component personally. Toretto, I'll arrange transportation for you and your cars. You brush up on your Spanish, boys. I'll see you en Espana."
With that Hobbs hangs up and Teagan quickly gets up grabbing the notebook in the process. While Dom was walking back to his car, she steps in front of him.
"Can I talk to you?" She asks and looks around at all the prying eyes. "In private."
The two make their way towards the edge of the building overlooking the beautiful city.
"I know it's not my place to pry, but that is sort of the only thing I'm good at," She says and takes in a deep breath. She hands the notebook to him that was filled with pages of Riley's invalid key points. "I looked into Riley's file. She has no hard evidence of a previous history with Special Forces. It's all written on paper, but I can't find any records, video footage, or even a time stamp. Everything that is hard copied is her working on this case."
"So what are you saying?" Dom asks and looks up from the notebook.
"I'm saying," She trails off and sighs. "I'm having a tough time believing she is on our side in all this."
"You're right," Dom says and closes the notebook. He looks the girl in the eye with a look that was not pleasant. "It wasn't your place to pry."
"Dom..." He holds up a hand silencing her.
"I do not believe she is a mole, none of us are." He tells her and shoves the notebook into her chest. "Riley is a valuable asset to this team, if you don't like it, too bad."
"You can't be serious," She says, but the look in his eyes said otherwise. She chuckles sinisterly. "Well then, so be it."
With that she walks off towards a different part of the facility where the beds were. She grabs her duffle bag from under her bed and starts to fill it with clothes. She doesn't even hear the door open, allowing Tej to walk inside. He walks over to her and places a hand on the small of her back and she turns towards him.
"What's wrong?" He asks her.
"Nothing," She says and turns back to her bag. "Just packing a bag, because it looks like we'll be leaving soon."
"T," He says and grabs her elbow. He pulls her towards him and holds both of her elbows to make her look at him. "What happened with Dom?"
"I stepped out of line," She says trying to avoid the subject. If Dom believed she was wrong, why should she believe she's right? "He set me straight, I'll get over it."
"You know you can talk to me, right?" Tej asks her.
"Yeah, I know," She says and pulls out of his grip. "But right now I just feel like being alone. Okay?"
"Fine," He says and takes a few steps back. "By the way, Dom's not leaving without Brian. So we are waiting to see if he comes back."
He leaves her all by herself and she runs a hand through her hair. Would that qualify as a fight? He didn't even try to fight her, he just gave up. No girl wants their boyfriend to just give up on them.
