Dyslexics are not stupid.
Most of the time dyslexics are incredibly smart/bright.

Dyslexia often causes difficulty with reading and spellings. (I didn't read a book until I was about 11. We usually can find a way to stop people finding out we can't read well, which is why it can often be years later that people find out they actually do have dyslexia.)
Dyslexia is hereditary.
It can take 6 times more time and energy for someone with dyslexia to process language, because of the way out brains are wired.
On average more boys are diagnosed with dyslexia, as they are more likely to misbehave and get attention.
There is no cure for dyslexia because it is not a disease.
