Now that Andy's girlfriend was back in town, we could no longer hide out in his apartment. Luckily, we managed to get creative. When Andy knew his band mate, Jake, wasn't going to be home, he used his key to sneak us into his apartment. It was a loft style place with concrete floors and a metal staircase leading up to the bedroom. I didn't see much of it before Andy threw me onto the bed. Other times, we went out on a date and after a few hours of flirting and romance, we'd lose ourselves in lust in the cramped space of the back seat of his car or a bathroom stall.
Things should have felt different now that I knew Andy had a girlfriend, but it really didn't. If anything, it added more spontaneity and excitement to the whole thing. I still wished that Andy would one day be mine, but for now, I could deal with it. Britt, however, didn't agree. When I'd explained the situation to her, she immediately assumed I'd thrown my frappuccino in Andy's face and stormed out of the coffee shop. When I told her that wasn't the case, she called me a moron. After a little arguing, she finally agreed to lay off the issue, but she claimed she was "totally going to say I told you so if this ends up badly."
I knew she was just overreacting. She didn't know Andy like I did, and she could never understand just how deep my feelings for him ran. I was pretty sure I loved him. Maybe it was kind of silly to say that, but I had known him for almost a month now. It wasn't completely unreasonable to have developed strong feelings, especially for a guy as perfect as Andy.
Regardless of my feelings, I definitely wasn't going to be vocalizing them anytime soon. I knew Andy hadn't reached that point yet and I didn't want to scare him off by getting too serious too soon. I had a tendency to cling to boys, and people in general, so I tried to not do that with Andy. I was attempting to keep things casual.
Today, Andy and I had met up at a nearby mall. It wasn't necessarily the most romantic date, but Andy succeeded in making it special, nonetheless. Just walking around holding his hand made me happy. Occasionally, he'd stop and kiss me quickly. When we stopped for lunch at the food court, he fed me a bite of his meal. When we were standing around in a store or in line, he'd hang all over me, kissing me and holding me to him.
We were that lovesick couple I usually glared at. I used to be so annoyed, not understanding why they couldn't contain themselves in a public place. Like, get a room. However, suddenly, I understand what those couples felt. There was this desperate need in my bones to be as close to Andy as I possibly could. My lips hungered for the taste of his kiss and I felt euphoric whenever I was around him. I was in this romantic haze that clouded me from everything that should have been clear.
Andy and I were walking aimlessly around the second floor of the mall, sipping on our sodas from lunch. Suddenly, Andy changed course and instead of walking straight, he turned right. Since our hands were intertwined, he pulled me along with him. I had no idea what he was doing until I met the bright pink decor and overwhelming scent of sweet perfume.
"Why are we in Victoria's Secret?" I asked hesitantly, staring at the lingerie that surrounded us.
"I want to get you something to wear for me," Andy said mischeviously.
"Is this your way of something my underwear is ugly?" I teased, though a part of me did feel a moment of insecurity.
"No," Andy laughed. "I just want to spoil you. Is that alright?"
"Fine with me," I remarked, beginning to browse through a huge bin of hipster panties.
Andy pulled at my hand, grabbing my attention. "Come on."
Leaving behind the cute underwear that I usually bought, I followed Andy deeper into the store. It seemed like this was where the more expensive and seductive lingerie was placed. Along with an assortment of bras, varying from pushup to lace demi, there were also sexy corsets and garters. There were costume lingerie outfits made for specific kinks and elaborate sets complete with ribbons and fur.
