The sun was out for the first time in days.
"Where have you been, Jordan?" Elizabeth asked as she, Jordan and I walked to class.
"Jordan..." I began, but Jordan gave me a warning look. She took out her phone and texted me something so that Elizabeth wouldn't see. I looked at my phone.
"I'm fine now. Really. Stop worrying." she said. I nodded. "Wow. The sun's finally out. It's been cloudy all week long." Jordan said. We passed Ken in the hallway and I noticed that Jordan didn't even seem to acknowledge him.
"Oh wow, Jordan. Is everything ok?" Elizabeth asked her after Ken was out of earshot. "Are you and Ken fighting again?" I couldn't help but notice how nervous Elizabeth looked.
"Maybe you should try talking to him." I suggested, but Jordan shook her head. "You haven't even greeted him today."
"Really, it's fine. We're just taking a break, that's all." Jordan said without looking me in the eyes. Elizabeth and I were silent.
