Chapter 9

                                    

                                          
Her voice sounds broken and hurt. I felt like I was being taken out of reality and shot into space where a little girl's silhouette stood in front of me. "Where am I? Where's Yukine?" I asked the figure, she chuckled and turned around.
                          
She was little with long brown hair and piercing eyes. Her stance was intimidating as she just looked at me and my uneasiness. "well, well, well. looks like you heard me." She stated. She let out a few more giggles before she headed my way.
                          
"Who are you, why do you look so familiar?" I asked her, taking a few steps back. the little girl got closer to me and lifted my head up with her finger, making our eyes meet. She had a cold stare as she looked into my eyes.
                          
"That's not fun, how come you don't remember me?" She pouted. She moved closer to my ear and whispered something to me. "You can never trust anyone, not even that boy-toy of yours." I could see her smirk as she spoke.
                          
"You've got it all wrong. I trust Yukine a lot, he's not my boy-toy, I'll never think that way of him." I responded and stepped away from her.
                          
I could feel a pain start in my head. Sudden flashes of images are flowing through my head.
                          
I stared up at the girl, she had a huge smile plastered on her face as she watched me collapse. "What did you do." I spat towards her and my vision became spotted. "Have fun now, Mei-Chan~" She giggled. That was the last thing I saw before a huge room was in front of me.
                          
I could see myself walking up to that little girl. Like I was watching a movie about myself. "Mei-Chan." The little girl cheered. I hugged her and spun her around, she seemed like I was closely related to her.
                          
"How are you Mio, I haven't seen you in ages." I put her down and we continued to chat for a few minutes. 'how come that girl, Mio, is so happy now but, she sounds like she will do anything to make my life miserable'
                          
As soon as I thought that, the worst happened. We were standing in a park, I found myself on the ground struggling to get up and I was watching Mio. She was being attacked by a man. He was holding a baseball bat and was threatening her with it.
                          
I could hear myself screaming for Mio and for that guy to stop hurting her. "I'm sorry Mio, for doing nothing. I'm sorry Mio. I'm sorry Mio." Was all I could scream.
                          
I was still on the ground and saw her being hit with the bat. Over and over again. The sounds of the bat hitting her lifeless body over and over again I screamed for him to stop until I didn't speak anymore.
                          
I stared in utter shock as the guy just walked away without a care in the world. "It's your fault y/n, you did this to me, you made this happen." Mio's voice rang through my ears.
                          
I exited my trance-like state and reentered the real world. I didn't notice this until I let out an ear piercing scream, falling off of the swing. I sat there shaking, ignoring all other movement and noise around me. "y/n! y/n!. What happened. Are you alright." Yukine shook me around, shocked.
                          
"It's my fault. I did it." Is all I can mutter, all that is on my mind.
