Chapter 6
I walked through the school hallway quietly like normal until a loud crash around the corner made me gasp. I quickened my pace and turned the corner to see Mathew beating Jonathan with fist while holding him to the lockers. I dropped my stuff on the floor and ran behind Mathew screaming. “Mathew! Stop!” I yelled in his ear as i pulled him back by his waist. He ripped away and stormed back towards Jonathan, who was ready this time and punched Mathew in the face.
I cried and watched helplessly as the two fought each other. I didn't even know why they were fighting but i had an idea. I then gave up. I walked over to my stuff, picked it up and walked down the hallway to my next class quietly.

“Mathew you do know why you are here, right?” The blank room was matched with a man with a blank face, blank clothing, and blank heart. The only noises in the room was the tick tock of the clock on the wall. I nodded “Yes I do Mr. Helmock.” He nodded and straightened the pencil on his desk. Then he looked up at me again. “Do you mind explaining why you attacked Jonathan?” the man said before straightening his glasses on his nose.“He hurt my girl.” I murmured looking down at my hands.
The man leaned foreword in his seat and said something to me again, but I couldn't hear him. The blood pounded in my ears and my eyes got clouded with anger. I glanced beside me at Jonathan who was looking carefully at me. Then his eyes shot back and my eyes followed slowly. The door had opened and Christi had walked in. ‘You called me, Mr. Helmock?” I stood up out of my seat and walked over to her. Her eyes looked alarmed but I had no time to comfort her. I grabbed her arm and pulled her to the desk. “See?” I said angrily, then I pulled her sleeve up so that the long scars up her arm showed. Everyone in the room gasped and so did I to see that one cut was fresh and still bleeding. Jonathan laid his head in his hand and groaned. Mr. Helmock handed her a bandage and pulled her in a seat. She sat down in it and began to cry.
What have I done?

I walked out of the school building avoiding the stares of my peers. They all knew about my self harm now. I didn't take my normal route to get home, normally I would have went to Mathews truck but I was angry with him and I knew he would be the same with me. I walked down the sidewalk and ignored my friends. I knew I would have to confront Mathew sooner or later and when I heard his truck pull up beside me I knew it would probably be sooner. “Get in.” he said gruffly but I continued down the sidewalk without answering him. Then I heard his truck door slam.
He came up behind me and turned me around so that I was facing him repeated his orders. I began to turn back around but he picked me back up and carried me over his shoulder to his truck. I pounded on his back but he continued quietly. He sat me down in the passenger seat of his truck and slammed the door shut. He got in the drivers seat and drove. I waited for him to say something to me but he said nothing. “I am sorry.” I mumbled under my breath. He sighed and pulled over in a corn field and looked ahead as a tear streamed down his face. “I am so sorry. I made a mistake. And that made me hurt you. I will never forgive myself for that.” I wiped the tear from his eye and kissed his cheek.
He jerked back and the tears continued to stream down his face. His hurt eyes looked into mine as his head shook. “I can’t anymore. I am sorry.”
