When is the rest of the family heading this way? My mom asked during lunch. "There supposed to arrive today but I'm honestly not sure because my dad hasn't called yet and I know Mary's mom is sick and Arabella has some internship going on at school." I said cutting my steak. Oh okay she said.

We were all currently in the mall. My mom, melody and Kaprial we're getting pedicures and Johnathan, Ruby and I were in Kay jewelers looking at engagement rings. Johnathan had told me and the girls that he's been thinking about proposing for a while now and he was waiting for the perfect opportunity so he figured that he'd pop the question sometime during the trip. He just needed help picking out a ring. I was quite pleased with the fact that he had asked for my help and even more pleased with the fact that he was about to put a ring on my moms finger. After an hours search we finally found a ring that was perfect for my mom. It was simple yet elegant at the same time and we knew she'd love it.
After leaving the mall and heading to the grocery store to pick up the ingredients for my moms famous pasta we headed back to our condo. When we pulled into the driveway we seen my dad outside unloading their car.
We unloaded our groceries and then headed inside. I was surprised at the mood in the room, there was no tension and the silence didn't feel awkward at all. When my dad and Mary noticed my mom and Jonathan's shirt they congratulated them and then we headed off to the kitchen. I helped my mom prepare her scampi while everybody talked in the living room. Mary actually seems pretty sweat. My mom said seasoning the tilapia she had placed on a pan. "She's okay." I commented. My mom looked at me and smiled. "It's okay to give her a chance cadence. It doesn't seem like she's going anywhere any time soon. I found a place forgive her and now it's your turn. Remember she was just a victim to your fathers craving and she so happened to fall in love with him. Let go of that grudge your holding on to, I see that you've opened up to Arabella now it's time to give her mother a chance and I'm not telling you to go run and jump in her arms just be open to the fact that she's is your step mom, ask her how her day is going sometimes. You can't go around avoiding her forever. I thought about what my mom said and went around the island to give her a hug and a kiss on the cheek. I can only pray to be as strong as you one day.
